Hey all! Nice of you to drop by. This is my newest main project since Figue Folle. I've put a lot of work into it so far, so I really hope you enjoy your time playing it!

I am going for rank with this, despite the fairly unorthodox mapping and extreme amount of SV. It'll be a challenge, but I'm up for it. With the exception of two particular parts (you'll know when you see it), the top difficulty is technically sightreadable, however don't be surprised at the amount of 200's you may get as this chart is very tricky to time correctly without prior knowledge of the song. If you have any feedback/criticism for the map in its current stage, I would be very glad to hear it!

Edit: I did it! Thanks to everyone that helped bring this project to life. :)

Here's some mildly interesting facts:
- Around one third of all of the notes are long notes (in the top difficulty).
- There are 1143 SV changes!
- It took almost 3 times as long to add the SV's than to actually map. Phew.

First of all, I need to say that you're a really good mapper, your patterns are AMAZING, but you aren't going to get rank in this map because of the song. It's not every music that you can map in mania, mainly songs like this one. I loved everything in your map, but it I bet this get ranked.

I didn't notice any ghost notes or something you actually need to delete.

Easy diff:
03:17:205 (197205|2) - A LN here would be better.
Nothing but this. It's an Easy diff, anyways.

Everything's okay in all the other diffs.
The only thing I would change is some SVs, there are one's that needs to be more "aggresive" and others that are just there for no reason.

Again, your patterns are amazing, but, because of the song, there are a lot of LNs, and a lot of stuff without rhythm.

I think having it without the LN is nicer in the way that it prepares the player for the double=snare association that will help keep some kind of rhythm throughout the map.

Again, your patterns are amazing, but, because of the song, there are a lot of LNs, and a lot of stuff without rhythm. LN-based maps are becoming more and more popular over time. You might be surprised at how many people want more LN maps ranked (including me), so I don't think the amount of LN will be a problem. So for the people that say "Why don't you go rank your own LN maps then!?", here I am! :D

Haha, I appreciate your concern, but I'll still be heading for rank with this set. There's nothing unrankable about it, and once it's been sufficiently modded and improved, there should be no reason why it can't be ranked. At least... from what I know now ^^;

00:18:705 maybe remove 1 LN (?) because the sound is not really loud I think the idea here is that the amount goes 3->1->2->3, as the noise starts off kind of loud, immediately drops, and then rises back up again. Plus, I like the aesthetic of having all 4 lanes covered. Makes the layering feel more hectic.
00:46:455 --> same like 00:56:005 I'm assuming you're talking about the triple after the time you linked. Fixed.
00:49:305 --> http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/6389200 I figured the continuous jack would end up being too strained, so I did the next best thing by leaving it all to the same hand. Also that extra note there, while quiet, is there for variance by creating a cool-ass polyrhythm 8-)

01:21:105 add 1 I think this sounds is *just* quiet enough and *just* loud enough to be either a single or a double. I'm leaving it as a single due to the reflection of the previous pattern.
01:39:755 (99755|1,99805|2,99855|3,100005|0,100055|1,100105|2,100155|3) - pls change this, I can hear the sound but the volume is really low Hmm, yes, this one may end up being a problem. I tried mapping the sounds as exact as I could (using 1/16) and it ended up playing terrible. So instead I simplified the pattern so that it's easier to hit and feels better to play. Think of it like a un-simplified LN. The fact that it's just a glide across the 4 keys gives it one continuous motion. And due to the speed of it, the timing of the notes doesn't matter so much as making that sliding motion. This one is vague, so I'll ask for some more opinions on this.

These particular sounds have a smooth attack, making it sound slightly delayed due to having to build up to the peak loudness. I mapped these LN's to start at the very start of the sound and not the peak. Otherwise these patterns would end up being awkward to play.

from 02:45:105 I suggest make it 1/12 and back to 1/6 at 02:48:105 That would be incredibly out-of-place.
03:02:155 I suggest --> http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/6389262 That LN is cut short so that the double jacks would feel more comfortable (no one likes doing jackhammers on the same hand as an LN, haha). I see what you're talking about though, and this will probably end up being pointed out by another modder down the track :L .
03:16:505 (196505|2) - move to /2/ Yeah this could work, but I'm going to be annoying by keeping it, because I like the repeated note in column 3, as it serves as a mirrored version of the previous notes.

Ok. First of all if you're going for ranked you will need a better spread in this case you need to make easy way easier. aim for 1 star so you get 1*->2.03*->3.18*->4.24* this makes them all have about 1 star difference in between the diffs(this might be very hard without completely redoing the diff). I'm pretty sure you have to remove all your sv's in normal diff.

i think i'm gonna focus on trying to bring the diff down to easy level and if you don't want that send me a PM and i'll go over it again.
sadly i was only able to get it down to 1.51 in SR with the changes below(and keeping them consistent throughout the map). This means that you will have to remove even more. so i would say look at your peaks such as 00:43:305 - ~ 01:09:105 - and really think if you can simplify things. maybe remove the doubles or remove some LN's. while i was modding the timing of everything looked fine.

Due to SR being kinda broken at times, it's best not to compare SR differences, but instead the actual difficulty itself. Before I give more reasons, I just want to point out that I have a particular rulse when it comes to mapping Easy difficulties (and Normal as well). If the Easy difficulty is uninteresting, and/or it does not truly capture the song, then I will not submit it. Easy's and Normal's can be interesting, and I want to help spread that idea. I refuse to map a song with a note or two every 1/1 or 1/2 for the entire song, because I feel like I'm being lazy and not creative. I'm getting off on a little tangent here, and I definitely understand that you're not telling me to make my Easy diff super basic! I just want to point this out so that there's no misunderstandings later on. :L

The Easy diff has the lowest SR I could get while also staying true to my vision of the song. Randomly changing doubles to singles for the sole purpose of deflating the SR is a little ridiculous to me. I have a layering structure that involves mapping the snare to a double for a lot of the map, and if I'm going to break that, then I'll need a better reason than for the sake of making the SR gaps aesthetically pleasing. The biggest difficulty with this song is that the timing is super weird (but you've definitely noticed that haha). Making an Easy diff for this kind of song was bound to become more complicated than the average Easy difficulty.

That's more a guide for the icons than a steadfast rule. There can be Insanes less than 3.75 and Normals higher than 2.25, etc. It just depends on context. There's no "Normal" and "Normal+" difficulty, so despite my Easy not having the E icon, it's still called Easy because of my perceived difficulty, not for SR. See my first ranked map 'Figue Folle', which technically had a NNHHII spread despite acting like ENHHIX. The Easy diff in that set is above 1.50, so it's definitely not unrankable.

It may technically work, but it's still pretty counter-intuitive. Both sounds are the same and yet only one is mapped. Makes it harder when it's left out imo

Having a single there just doesn't have enough emphasis.

Like i said at the start the sv's sadly gotta go if you want it ranked. I also asked about this to make sure what I'm about to say is correct. It's not unrankable by any means. Especially in a map like this is, which by definition is an SV map. I removed the SV in the Easy as *that* would be too hard and likely unrankable. But removing all the SV in half of the set is pretty weird for a set that's meant to be heavily based on SV. I already spent hours pulling my hair out in frustration to try and tweak all of the Normal SV's to make them approachable. I assure you there's nothing to worry about here~

This is probably the most complicated thing I've ever mapped, so I understand if it seems really confusing at times... because it *is* confusing lmao. I hope I've explained my reasoning enough. I assure you that I did take this mod seriously and went and sought after other opinions on the matter.

  5. 00:43:305 (43305|0) - ^ no sound high for this diff as similar 00:45:705 (45705|0) - ... Yeah this may be seen as inconsistency, but that's mapped to a double because it's the start of an entirely new section, and so the starting note is quite powerful. You'll notice this throughout the diff as sections switch over. I think having a single there is too minimal for the emphasis the song has at that point.
  6. 01:01:305 (61305|1) - feel this LN start in 01:01:455 - Simplified version of the LN's used in Normal and above. I am open to changing this if it ends up being a problem, however.

    01:39:705 (99705|0,100005|0) - make only LN? maybe for change the effect but is little hard in this diff imo Well it's on the other hand to the long LN so I don't see a problem.
    01:41:405 (101405|2) - make note.. is uncomfortable for 01:41:505 (101505|1,101505|0) - (same similar.. this mini LN feel that does not go with this diff so is better in next diff to effect imo) Okay I realise that this diff is being modded comparatively to most normals, but my aim for this difficulty is different a lot of other Normal diffs out there. I'm not holding the hand of the player through this song, and instead I'm giving them the opportunity to work on more difficult and strange patterns that are rarer to see in other maps. It's kind of the philosophy to this whole set: To not tiptoe around the strange. Despite the SR being fairly low, this is still a fairly advanced difficulty because of the timing, structure and style, so I feel that oversimplifying this stuff will only be detrimental to this set's aim. So yeah, a lot of the stuff I've denied in this section is because I'm aiming for a slightly different audience here.

First of all, the double LN takes care of that sound more than enough, as making a triple would just be too strong and would cause that pattern to be awkward. Second of all, that sounds is *ALWAYS* mapped to a double LN, in the same 2 columns as well! (woo consistency!)
  9. 02:15:105 - LN for that effect? I kind of like the gap there. Almost like a very very slight breather from LN before the next section starts. Also causes the player to be more aware of what's about to happen (the critical-timing staccatos).
  10. 02:38:505 - add note for knock? Originally I had notes there, but decided against it in the end. The SV is too strong to have notes there, and the transition isn't as smooth as I had hoped when you're playing 23232323 while holding LN.

The difficulty is definitely intentional. Doing LN lifts is a skill that is largely untouched in ranked maps, so it seems really strange, but I can personally attest to the fact that it's not as hard as it looks. I've gotten confirmation from other players too that it wasn't as hard to hit as they expected. Just needs some heavy-handed LN playing! :D

Fixed the values to be a little less weird. The reason why the OD is much lower than the HP is because of the amount of LN and difficult LN timings. It's so that it's a liiiitle more lenient for people who aren't familiar with this kind of mapping (I don't blame them). The HP is a little lower than usual just because of the SV, but who knows, it may rise in future if I feel cruel enough.

02:56:005 (176005|0) - I think this should be in [3] since this is an Easy diff we wouldn't want to stress the new 4k players by handling a LN at the same time with a single note.

I think this should be fine how it is. There's a pretty big gap for it, and it's in that column to stay consistent with the contant 14141414 patterning going on before it.

03:20:730 - i think there's a missing note here for the kick I'm mostly just mapping the snare in this section, just so that there aren't too many doubles everywhere from all of the kicks. There are the few exceptions though, like when the sound is very prominent/surrounded by a sizeable gap/at the start of a section.
03:25:455 (205455|2,205680|3) - i think these notes are better off as a LN, like this one 03:25:155 (205155|0) I like this idea.
03:39:930 - missing note for the kick also Same reason as the other unmapped kick suggestion.
