[Archived] Osu stutters in game whenever i press buttons too fast

i recently got a new laptop (after my old one kinda blew up) and one of the first things i did with it was download and try to play osu. i didnt save my beatmaps on a usb drive or anything, so i downloaded a new map, but when i tried to play, the game would have these quick lag spikes (drops about 40 fps) that make the game virtually impossible to play. i played around with it a bit, and found out that changing the visuals to the lowest settings doesnt help, and also, these stutters occur only when i press any sort of button too fast, like rapidly pressing z and x (i use a tablet).

Set your FPS to unlimited and see if that helps. Make sure that you are on latest version and that if you use stable or fallback what ever that you have everything good. Also if this doesnt work. When starting up osu hold shift and turn on compatibility mode

I have the most updated version and i have tried changing the fps limiter, it didnt help, the fps still drops about 40 frames. I have tried switching to compatability mode and it didnt help either. Im not sure what stable or fallback is.

What windows version are you on?

Can you press CTRL+F11 to enable the frametime graph, then limit your framerate to 120, reproduce your issue, and take a screenshot of the stuttering visible on the graph? Also, post the contents of your performance.log found in the Logs folder (inside the osu! installation folder) after reproducing it on the cutting edge release stream (to which you can switch from the options menu).

Furthermore, does this happen even from a clean boot (eg booting into windows without any additional processes/software that aren't required)?

Sharing images doesn't work like that. You will have to upload it somewhere (e.g. imgur, puush etc) and then paste the link like that "[img]example.png[/img]". Also, please move your performance.log's contents in a spoilerbox to prevent spam.

turning on or off cursor ripples dont have any effect on this problem :(

for some reason, whenever i try to edit my last comment, it directs me to a website that tells me im blocked from ppy.sh, so i cant update that post. it also wont let me post a new one with the performance logs and imgur picture

Probably something being silly thinking you are trying to inject code and cloudflare blocking you for that. You should still be able to link it though.
