[Archived] Game crashing

Problem Details:
"A TDR has been detected"
"The application must close."

I'm not sure what's causing this problem because it happens even when i don't have anything running. But it mostly happens when i'm running osu!
Also, osu! is literally the only game I play where the application crashes, every other game I play just resumes playing like nothing ever happened.

The up to date versions had the problem so I also tried older versions and now i'm using beta versions

Try this. Generally its not good to turn it off, but it seems like it would help here.

I tried increasing the delay and it just made the crash last longer before recovering. I also tried disabling which made my computer completely unresponsive forcing me to restart my computer by holding the power button.

This has been happening for a while so no it's not a new issue. Just a few hours ago I started playing on Cutting Edge and now the game doesn't crash, but when my display crashes, the game display doesn't show.
I can still click and hear sounds in the game such as selecting songs and the the voice effects when exiting the game but it doesn't even show the game.

edit:
Seems compatibility mode is what's causing the above but no point in using it because the game display still doesn't come back

bump. Am I allowed bumping?

This is getting incredibly annoying. I can play Bastion, CS:GO, Devilian for literally 4 hours straight but the moment I open osu! my display driver crashes and I have to restart the game. I can barely finish a single map! :(

This sounds like a driver problem. Please figure out if it's opengl related. go back to fallback and try directX / openGl and report whether it happens.

It still happens in fallback. At least osu! doesn't crash. I can continue playing after my display recovers.
