00:38 monstrata: OMGODEGMLOSDGMNLDJGFLSIDJF(S&D)RF
00:39 monstrata: love this song
00:39 monstrata: i wanted to map it for christmas actually lol
00:39 Rizen: I had to shorten because i don't have much time :(
00:39 Rizen: it's 1/3
00:39 Rizen: :(
00:39 Rizen: btw, ignore this 00:14:594 (1) -
00:41 monstrata: 00:30:958 (1) - circle/slider instead?
00:42 monstrata: like shorten by 1/3
00:42 Rizen: same for this too then?
00:42 Rizen: 00:14:594 (1) -
00:42 monstrata: 00:39:140 (6) - i don't relaly hear a noticeable beat here unlike other 1/3 doubles xd
00:42 monstrata: yea
00:42 monstrata: 00:22:776 (6,1) - This rhythm is surprisingly playable for me idk
00:45 monstrata: 00:58:344 (1,2) - I would have made them circles instead because the vocals are quite emphasized here for me anyways
00:47 monstrata: 01:11:299 (6) - You could try making this a 1/3 slider and having01:11:526 - be a circle too
00:48 monstrata: 1/3 at 176 bpm is basically 132 bpm 1/4's anyways
00:48 monstrata: 01:18:457 (3) - this slider is ugly pretty
00:49 Rizen: ah yeah, i tried to make that one of those candy cane sliders
00:49 Rizen: but kinda failed t-t
00:49 monstrata: 01:20:503 (2,3,4,5) - Since you don't really use a lot of 1/3 consecutive circles tho, i would suggest using a 1/3 repeat and a circle here instead. Also the drums sound a bit off sync idk. it might through people off xP
00:50 monstrata: http://puu.sh/lWeGD.jpg
00:50 monstrata: should look something like that then
00:50 monstrata: where the red node is in between the two white ones
00:50 monstrata: and perfectly linear
00:51 Rizen: oo yeah
00:51 Rizen: thanks for that
00:51 monstrata: anyways ye thats all i got[/img][/youtube]

Hi, from my modding queue~

[Normal]

  1. 00:11:299 (3) - There's no sound on the red tick but it's on the 1/3 tick here 00:11:526 so it gives off a weird feeling because players can't follow the instruments completely. I guess I'll mention this just in case.
  2. 00:14:367 (4,4) - Maybe move them down a bit? Since they're very close to the life bar.
  3. 00:26:640 (2) - This one definitely touches it.
[Hard]

  1. 00:24:935 (6,7) - The flows kinda weird here, I think you should increase DS here a bit.
It's fine if it's no kd though, I'm very sorry because I'm not good with 1/3 Rhythm.
Good luck~

The MP3 you're using appears to be poorly encoded -- this usually happens when one transcodes from a lossy format to another. For this file in particular, it looks as if it was transcoded from 128kbs to 192kbs, which is an absolute no-no because not only will the quality be god awful, the size of the file will be bigger than it should be in the first place. Absolutely disgusting, I know. (Note: this could have happened when you cut the audio. If you use a program like audacity, it will re-encode the file which you certainly don't want.)

Don't fear, however, for I am here to save the day. I managed to source a lossless version of this song quite easily and transcoded it from FLAC (lossless) to MP3 192kbs (lossy), which is the correct way of going about this. Here is a link to the full, properly transcoded audio. I did not cut this for you using mp3DirectCut because you did some fancy stuff and I don't want to mess it up. I highly suggest doing the same thing again using mp3DirectCut and my audio file for a much better listening/playing experience. If you're going to do this, it's very important that you use mp3DirectCut.

For shits and giggles, let's compare the audio spectrum analysis for both files:
Original transcode (lossy -> lossy)
Proper transcode (lossless -> lossy)

Notice how the frequencies extend up to 16khz in the bad transcode and 18khz in the proper transcode.

[General]
Change the offset to 1036 if you're using my mp3 and used mp3DirectCut to cut it. After you do that, move all of the notes and inherited timing points by -36ms. You can do this easily by going to (Timing -> Move notes in time...) and (Timing -> Timing Setup -> Select all inherited timing sections -> Move by -36ms) respectively.

[Hard]
00:14:586 (7,1) - The way you manually stacked this is pretty unappealing. I'd suggest sticking with the default behavior for this particular case.
00:17:314 (6) - Let (6) blanket (5). Looks better overall.
01:07:776 - Consider adding a note here. I think it fits because it maintains a running beat which feels appropriate for the transition the music is currently undergoing.
01:21:185 (4) - Not a huge fan of this slider. It'd probably look better if it was smooth.

thank you for this! once I figure out how mp3DirectCut works, I'll replace the mp3 file

Hellooo from winter and christmas queue, too lazy to find the banner :p

  1. 00:10:276 (2,3) - I'm just too picky, but maybe you can move (3) a bit down so (2,3,1) visually loks better? http://puu.sh/lZPXt/22f1887769.jpg
  2. 00:32:435 (3) - Maybe make that slider a curve? so the flow on 00:32:435 (3,4) - smoother http://puu.sh/lZQ4n/e8f5d87126.jpg
  3. 00:33:799 (1) - Imo the rhythm better like this http://puu.sh/lZQ7G/a71ddf3925.jpg, so it can cover both vocal and instrument better?
  4. 00:36:526 (1) - Literally same as above
[Hard]
  1. 00:25:503 (7,1) - Just a personal taste, why not make that paralel with previous curve slider? http://puu.sh/lZQMp/9bde6f802f.jpg
  2. 01:00:390 (7) - Maybe make that slider slightly longer and ended on 01:00:958 - will cover the vocal on 1/3 better?
  3. 01:10:503 (3,4,5,6,7) - Imo for some reason too corwded and cramped to move there
[]
Maybe you should put 1/3 beat warning on description, some people just hate irregular rhythm like 1/3
I might come again, good luck for now dear

  1. Ok, so I played through the entire diff, thinking it was a poorly timed 1/4 map when it was actually properly timed 1/3 LOL. In the beginning, there are no clickable objects on the 1/3rd ticks, so its ok, but starting at 00:11:945 - I think you should add something that strongly indicates it's 1/3. I would change 00:12:967 (3) - to a 1/3 slider to emphasize the 1/3 beat. Also, any other similar place you can do the same thing. Just a suggestion.
  2. 01:06:831 - I feel like this should be clickable. How about shortening 01:06:490 (1) - by 1/6, muting the slider end, and adding a note with a clap at 01:06:831 ? Same thing with the next few rhythms
  3. Sorry, I'm not really experienced with modding 1/3 maps
[Normal]
  1. 00:47:399 (1) - ctrl+j and reposition for better flow
  2. 01:01:036 (1) - I think you want "normal" addition for hitsound, not "drum"
  3. 01:06:491 (1) - ^
  4. 01:16:717 (3,1,2) - too many straight sliders imo. how about something like this to add more variety? http://puu.sh/m0vUJ/9e6dadb987.jpg
  5. 01:20:126 (1,2) - rotate these sliders a bit for better flow
Hope that helps and good luck!

00:10:240 (4) - This slider is weird.
01:11:149 (6,7,8) - This seems weird.
01:18:421 (3) - This slider is weird.

Eh, I found no problems any at all in terms of aesthetic so good luck with the map instead. :)
Both normal and hard diff is aesthetically pleasing. :D
Sonnyc
You PM'ed Sonnyc for a mod!
[Normal]
  1. 01:21:155 (2,1) - Consider ending the slider at 01:22:519. New instrument sounds starts appearing there, and adding a beat there would sound cool. Also in the current rhythm, the spinner is visible while the previous slider isn't fully faded out yet. Since you've made an aesthetic slider at the end, both being visible won't benefit your setting.
[Hard]
  1. 00:11:610 (7,1) - The actual speed down of the song appears at 00:11:951. Accordingly, I suggest you to start the reduce of spacing from there, instead of 00:11:610.
  2. 00:36:382 (5,1) - 01:12:632 (2,3) - Stack could be few pixels better huehue
[pkgh]
  1. Still wip? :3 Anyways considering the parts you've uploaded are finished, I'd like you to focus more on consistency of 1/3 doubles. 00:02:632 (4,5) - 0.54x | 00:03:428 (6,1) - 0.33x | 00:08:087 (4,5) - 0.45x. There are several inconsistent spacings of your 1/3, and this results in a lack of structure on your map.
Nicely designed difficulties Rizen. Worth a star.
RVMathew
As thanks for testplaying my map here is a mod. Note that whatever I say is my own opinion so you do not have to follow everything I say.

Difficulty: Normal
1) 00:21:155 (2,3,4) - Considering 00:20:132 (1) , 00:21:155 (2) is not straight, so I would move it to 208,103. This will also affect sliders 3 and 4 so shift them up by the same amount of units.

Difficulty: Hard
00:10:246 (4) - This is a personal thing but I do not like the idea of a having a slider with both curved and angle points. This is only a cosmetic thing and did not affect playing it.

01:21:155 (4) - Make it a candy cane slider. Again a personal thing

General
01:24:564 At this part the sounds seems to fade in volume a bit. May I suggest adding some extra timing points. For example at 01:24:905 (75% volume) and 01:25:246 (70%)

I was thinking you can use a white combo colour

Add pkhg in tags

All in all, there are small niggles which are just personal and do not really affect gameplay that much. The map is nice as well.

Good luck.

2015-12-21 21:57 Doyak: ah ok
2015-12-21 21:57 Rizen: still waiting for pkhg to finish diff ;_;

2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: 00:48:769 (3,4) - I don't think this is allowed
2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: since the snap should be at 3/2s

2015-12-21 22:01 Doyak: In terms of music theory the bpm should be halved but I guess nobody cares
2015-12-21 22:02 Doyak: the map looks good, nothing to say more
2015-12-21 22:03 Doyak: now on Hard
2015-12-21 22:03 Doyak: 00:14:678 (1,3) - those are stacked wrongly, you need to fix it by youself
2015-12-21 22:03 Doyak: cuz that editor bug
2015-12-21 22:04 Doyak: 00:20:132 (1,2) - Would be cool if those were on one line but well
2015-12-21 22:06 Rizen: ok, readjusted to one line
2015-12-21 22:06 Doyak: 00:58:314 (1) - I think this doesn't much need to be an 2/3, as the only thing it represents is the long vocal but you have a harder difficulty to do that, so I might represent the only "real" sounds on this diff
2015-12-21 22:07 Doyak: 01:11:269 (7) - I don't think there's sound on the reverse arrow, I would just use an 2/3 slider
2015-12-21 22:08 Rizen: aaaa damn me
2015-12-21 22:08 Rizen: i didn't check this map thread
2015-12-21 22:08 Rizen: and didn't see 2 mods
2015-12-21 22:08 Doyak: lol
2015-12-21 22:10 Rizen: nice catch
2015-12-21 22:10 Rizen: about 01:11:269 (7) -
2015-12-21 22:10 Doyak: 01:20:814 (3) - I think this beat isn't worth emphasized with a click, so how about http://puu.sh/m3x6H/65e3cdc207.jpg
2015-12-21 22:11 Rizen: ok
2015-12-21 22:11 Doyak: and is the preview point snapped well? it's starting after the kiai start section
2015-12-21 22:11 Doyak: usually you put it a little before than that
2015-12-21 22:12 Rizen: I recently changed offsets so I must of forgotten
2015-12-21 22:12 Doyak: anyway, that's all from me
2015-12-21 22:12 Doyak: good map!

Worth a star.
thank you so much! (and for the star!)

This will also affect sliders 3 and 4 so shift them up by the same amount of units. done

Difficulty: Hard
00:10:246 (4) - This is a personal thing but I do not like the idea of a having a slider with both curved and angle points. This is only a cosmetic thing and did not affect playing it. mmm alright then ;(

01:21:155 (4) - Make it a candy cane slider. Again a personal thing It's already a christmas sleigh :P

General
01:24:564 At this part the sounds seems to fade in volume a bit. May I suggest adding some extra timing points. For example at 01:24:905 (75% volume) and 01:25:246 (70%) added, but used 70/60 instead

I was thinking you can use a white combo colour don't want to add white colours because people usually use white combo numbers

Add pkhg in tags when he finishes in time i'll add it ;_;

All in all, there are small niggles which are just personal and do not really affect gameplay that much. The map is nice as well.

Good luck.
wow, thanks! I totally didn't expect this!

IRC mod
2015-12-21 21:54 Doyak: you want an IRC mod?
2015-12-21 21:54 Doyak: or just on the thread
2015-12-21 21:54 Rizen: if that's ok :<
2015-12-21 21:56 Doyak: hmm I think people prefer 1366x768 BG
2015-12-21 21:56 Doyak: Consider finding one
2015-12-21 21:56 Doyak: The tag is different on a diff, check it
2015-12-21 21:57 Rizen: that's with the WIP diff
2015-12-21 21:57 Doyak: ah ok
2015-12-21 21:57 Rizen: still waiting for pkhg to finish diff ;_;
2015-12-21 21:57 Doyak: then no need to mod that one?
2015-12-21 21:57 Rizen: nope
2015-12-21 21:57 Doyak: on Normal
2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: 00:48:769 (3,4) - I don't think this is allowed
2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: since the snap should be at 3/2s
2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: 1/2 doesn't fut
2015-12-21 21:58 Doyak: fit*
2015-12-21 21:58 Rizen: ooo i forgot to remove those
2015-12-21 21:58 Rizen: shiet
2015-12-21 21:59 Doyak: 01:21:155 (2) - LOL
2015-12-21 22:00 Rizen: candy cane
2015-12-21 22:00 Doyak: I know
2015-12-21 22:00 Doyak: very nice
2015-12-21 22:00 Rizen: oh
2015-12-21 22:00 Rizen: thanks :s
2015-12-21 22:00 Rizen: try guess the end slider on the hard
2015-12-21 22:12 Doyak: now I'm gonna earn a kudosu
2015-12-21 22:12 Doyak: hehe
