Is AR8 significant?

It was always hard to play ar8. But now i completely lost ability to play ar8. Now i suck in multiplayer when people put hards because i cant play them nomod and also cant play it with hr. Because i cant play ar8 now but cant play ar10 yet. So what do you think should i train ar8 again or should i forget about it?

There are a lot of old AR8 maps, but having AR8 as a skill isn't necessary for earning PP. Most every modern Insane and higher are AR9+

AR8 is still relevant for you and is in general valuable for every player.

Learn AR8 if you want to be able to play higher note density maps later on.

You mean high bpm? Thats my main goal in osu. Thanks.
Will easy mod and even lower ar help me?

maps like scarlet rose, rainbow dash, atama no taisou etc that would be 1000x easier with higher AR
Dont go lower than AR8 because it appears here and there while you wont find AR7 on any 5*+ map

I don't see much diffrence betwin new and old maps exept this that old maps gives way more fun from gameplay and have higer skill cap.
No point of stating this.

@Baru - thx for maps, will try them for sure!

@OP - if you find ar8 fun to play, keep playing it. Old ar8 maps are challenging and still pp valuable.

That's because it's almost impossible to get these types of maps ranked.

It's not necessary to play ar8, no.

It is very possible to get to top #500 on ar8 maps. But it is so difficult as these maps almost never have OD greater than 8 and most are OD5-7 and just very hard pattern. It is not good for pp farming but it gives you better reading for the long run and you can crush multiplayer lobbys. Only learn this if you multi a lot or plan to stay forever.

Learn every ar so you don't get shit reading like the AR10 players who don't know to play anything below
AR8 is nice, but in AR7 shit becomes real, I guess it's just practice

I can still play ar 7 and 8 perfectly fine and 9 as well. I don't see any downsides to being able to read different ARs. It just means there's more maps you can play that are readable to you which is always a good thing.

If you plan on never playing EZ or below 4.5* then you probably don't need to read ar8, but it doesn't hurt having the skill.

All it takes is a bit of ar8 cs5 to quickly become the best in the lobby and to quickly empty the lobby too

Tbh AR8 still gives a bunch of pp, if you are at the point where it doesnt, you probably alerady can read AR8, it's just that higher AR maps that give you pp are more common at that level.

What I don't understand is how is it possible for someone who can play AR7, can't play AR8, but can play AR9 which is ..... even faster? whatever haha.

A lot of ar8 maps are abnormally difficult compared to ar9 maps aside from just the ar. A lot of them use the old mapping style and don't flow as well as newer maps that people are accustomed to. I should probably clarify that I'm talking mostly about the higher * difficulty ar8 maps. I mean, there are also old ar9 maps with the same style but pretty much every new map that is made with substantial difficulty these days is ar9 so it's hard to find difficult ar8 with modern mapping styles.
