There haven't been any updates to the version of osu! you are using in the last few weeks, so this must be something at your end. Did you already try rebooting? Alternatively you could switch to the cuttingedge release stream for a bit just to test whether it improves the situation.

Hi TKO, have you tried using the limiter?
opengl is a crossplatform renderer and it requires less ram

OR Heres a reply from a previous post

Hi battrippy we both have the same problem (caution tl;dr may pop)
to fix this lower your settings..

Now in the options look for Renderer that falls under the graphics category, In default directx is selected which requires more ram but has better textures, you should select OpenGL; it is a cross platform renderer. and yeah set your fps to 60(vsync)

Next the Detail Settings it still falls under the graphics category..
for the best performance disable EVERYTHING in there
or enable combo burst and hit lighting.. for you know the style 8-)
Usually backround videos takes too much ram and it will drop your fps, so you better disable this if you have a low end unit

If you still experience lag try switching skins to an optimized one..
reducing the resolution may reduce lag. but I dont recommend that, your game should fit the screen
backround dimming may also reduce idk

If none helped, defrag.

If you are going to use OpenGL, please switch to Beta or Cutting Edge, because the OpenGL used there is so much advanced than the Stable one. Give it a try.
