Problem Details:
When an osu!direct download fails due to a server-side error, no notification of any kind is displayed. Instead, it appears to finish in the osu!direct panel but does not actually get the map.

  1. Search "nazuna" in osu!direct, including unranked maps
  2. Click on "A.Ru.Pi.Ji" mapped by daniel32333 (https://osu.ppy.sh/s/22732)
This will fail server-side (404), but osu!direct will not indicate any kind of failure.

Problem Details:
This relates to t/331057 but is a different issue.

Some maps (e.g. https://osu.ppy.sh/b/78266 ) appear to exist but are unable to be downloaded ("The page you were looking for can't be found..."). People have played them, they have been modded, it's just that the download button doesn't work. I can't see any signs that it's been deleted either.

That specific map is somehow messed up indeed.
There's a thread with maps in a similar situations here, however, those maps do have play statistics and osu!direct pops up with an error mesage when trying to download them. While this one doesn't.

Confirming this for now...

Thank you. The reason for the thread split was because I think it will need to be solved in two halves -- the specific map, and the error handling in osu!direct.

Aye. I thought that at first too, but after thinking about it, osu!direct should already have error messages in cases like these. This specific map does some weird nonsense, and is the only case osu!direct doesn't pop up an error message (osu!direct seems to actually start download something, unlike in other cases), which is why I think the actual issue that should be fixed is the map itself, which is why I merged the threads.

Well, it's just an educated guess based on some logical thinking, so I could be wrong.

Someone with acces to this would have to figure it out and go from there.
(If something can even be done about it at all...)

Edit: Moving to Low Priority.
