You have to upload your image somewhere on the Internet and paste its URL (a.k.a. the thing that starts with http) in the tag otherwise it won't work. For example, "C:\Users\myName\Desktop\image.jpg" is not acceptable.
Here are two quality online hosting services you can try: imgur (webapp, no registration required) and puush (from the creator of osu!, requires the installation of a software on your PC).

After you are done to upload your image you need to copy the BBCode ( Message boards and forum )
