I lost my internet access via my laptop, and had only regained it hours ago. Oddly enough, when I tried to update this, this happened, even though I am connected to the internet finely without any problems. And the window doesn't pop up after a while, it just appears instantly as if it's supposed to show up immediately.

Anyone who knows what should I do? :|

I don't know if it's caused by me not updating yet or something because of this, but if it's caused by that, I somehow can't update through the main menu screen at all. There's no usual prompt to click on the update button on the bottom of the screen.

Also, as a note, this happens across all of my maps.

Hinsvar check if your firewall/antivirus isn't blocking osu! way to connect. You can also try check if your router is acting perfectly fine. Usually maybe a reset would do possibly.

Pretty sure nothing is blocking osu!'s connection. I'd like to reset or even check the router, but I live in a boarding house, and I don't know the router's position. There is this access point device, but it's glued to the ceiling which is like four meters ahead from my hands.

I don't have such a folder here right now.

I would say you can try accessing the router via it's IP Address, but seeing you're living in a boarding house, I doubt you could access it..
Though may I ask have you install anything recently?

I actually just reinstalled Windows 8.1 because of... stuff. Basically, I couldn't access the hotspot for a few days, then after every thing possible were done, the technicians I contacted told me to try reinstalling the OS because they suspect that it might be the network setting (something I find to be kinda illogical because I still could connect with two other hotspots in two different cities the last week, but I did it anyway because I'm desperate).

Did it, and it didn't work. My friend tried to... uh idk, I think he updated the driver for the network adapter (Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG), and now I can connect to the boarding house's hotspot, but then that inability to connect to the BSS happens.

Damn man.

Just asking is there any other game that has this slight problem of connecting if I were to ask? From the statement. it seems there could be the possible chance that the driver may be working improperly.

Check in with your friend who install the driver maybe or try reinstalling it again by yourself?

Edit:
Also wanted to ask you this. Have the owner of the boarding house possible added any parental controls over the network itself maybe? Usually if they block certain websites from being accessed, then I can see why you can not connect to BSS.

I don't have any online game I play beside osu!, but if a gaming platform counts, I can download stuff via Steam. Not sure if that helps, though.

I just tried to update the driver via the Device Manager, but Windows told me that it's already updated to the latest version. If I roll back, I will most likely be unable to connect again. I'll ask that friend of mine again soon, I guess.

No, there isn't any. The family who owns the boarding house never cared about it anyway, and I used the hotspot since the middle of August normally until the middle of December where I had to go to my hometown, then I went back to my current city from my hometown, and had to transit on another city where a relative family of mine lives (the hometown and that one other city are the two cities that I mentioned). I connected to the internet via wi-fi on the two houses in the two different cities, and they worked.

The ISP does block gambling, pornography, and violent sites, though, but they never blocked access to osu!'s servers.

Also, if it helps, I have osu! in both my external HDD (backed up the osu! I had in my C:/ drive before I reinstalled Windows), and on the recently reinstalled laptop. The inability to update happens on both versions, but this happens in the one installed in the laptop's HDD, and it just can't connect to Bancho at all. The one in the external HDD doesn't have it, can normally connect to Bancho (submit scores and play multiplayer games), but can't connect to the BSS.

Bumping.

I lost the ability to connect for a week for some reason and is miraculously able to connect at all sudden today.

...Except I still can't update maps.

Yeah.

Tried the ping and tracert (to cho.ppy.sh) command through the command prompt, and the result looks pretty good, I think. Have a picture.

So now, what should I do? I can do literally everything else, by the way. Except updating and uploading new maps. And browsing through any other browser than Chrome.
