I am not really experienced at modding by the way, so I am taking whatever I have learned from my beatmapping experience and applying it here.


Changes are separated into boxes.

General Changes
AI Mod reports some objects not being snapped. Please follow what AI Mod says.


Normal Difficulty
00:03:081 (1,2 - Slider and Note) Blanket. Mainly for aesthetic appearances and blankets give the map more finesse. Other places where you can do it are at 08:133 (1,2) and 10:660.
1:01:186, flip the direction of the slider In my opinion for easy and normal difficulties, it would be better not the have sliders overlap each other. Moreover if you flip the above slider, it allows you the opportunity to blanket the slider at 1:00:555.
At 1:45:801, add a note. The music still goes on at that point and so it makes sense to add a note. Moreover, you can blanket that note with the previous slider.
If you added a note at 1:45:801, then change the hitsound addition at 1:44:765. You can either change it so it becomes a clap, clap (slider 2 and note 3), or a whistle, whistle (slider 2 and note 3). I recommend the former.


Advanced Difficulty
At 20:765 (Notes 1,2,3,4,5) Perhaps make it into a star pattern. Star patterns are interesting and can spice up the beatmap.
Blanket some notes.Again for aesthetic purposes. Some places where you can blanket include: 1:35:291 (1,2,3 - Slider 1, notes 2 and 3), 1:37:818, and 1:40:344 to name a few. I like the blanketing done at 59:133 (Sliders 2 and 3) :)


The rhythm seems fine. If I had to make improvements, it would be on the type of patterns you choose, because it makes a beatmap a whole lot better.

thanks! one thing that will help with your modding though, is better timestamps. if you copy (ctrl+c) in editor then paste in the post, it will give a better timestamp and make it easier for mappers to find where you're talking about

  • 00:08:134 (1,2,3) - I feel like emphasis here doesn't fit the music very well. You should be emphasizing the drum hit on 2 over the beat on slider 3. It's stronger imo and should be mapped to a larger jump while the jump from 2>3 should be reduced.
  • 00:08:608 (3,4) - ^Same thing here
  • 00:10:187 (3,4) - This increased spacing doesn't emphasize anything in the music. 00:10:029 (2,3) - Highly recommend just Ctrl+G'ing this because it will also improve flow.
  • 00:12:555 (4) - I guess this is optional but: NC here would be nice for clarity since you had 1/3 rhythm with the sliders but now you're returning to 1/4 rhythm here.
  • 00:13:502 (2,3,4) - Maybe larger spacing from 3>4 instead? 4 contains a drum beat you can emphasize.

  • 00:28:133 (5) - How about NC'ing here instead of 00:28:344 (1) - since that would help with making this switch from 1/2 to 1/3 rhythm a bit easier for players.
  • 00:33:712 (2,3) - Try Ctrl+G'ing this rhythm. Feels nicer imo.

  • 00:20:450 (8,1,2) - Since 1>2 kinda breaks flow, how about reducing spacing? Right now it seems like more emphasis is being put on 2 than on 1 because of similar spacing but with the additional flowbreak onto 2.
  • 00:40:187 (6,7) - How about larger spacing here? To mirror what you did with the spacing in00:39:397 (4,5) -
  • 01:17:924 (2,3,4) - Ctrl+G'ing this rhythm would fit the main melody better.
  • 01:22:345 (7,8) - Slider instead? 8 is pretty weak imo...
    Actually try something like this, the flow is really nice ;o.

  • 01:27:713 (1,2,3,4) - I really feel this emphasis is wrong... A jump would fit better going from 3>4 rather than from 2>3. You could just Ctrl+G 2 and 3 or something similar if the jump is too big.


Advanced


There is a noticeable difficulty gap between Advanced and Hyper. Firstly, there are jumps in Hyper while Advanced is mapped strictly to DS... Also I see some instances where Advanced is just really undermapped for my liking. There are two more difficulties that are lower than this too... Stuff like 01:20:133 (1,2,3) - and 01:25:817 (3,4,5,1,2,3) - In Kiai are just way too 1/1 in rhythm :P. Also, Hyper maps the triplets with circles. I feel Advanced should at least map the triplets to something. The two points I brought up earlier were instances where triplets could have been used but were instead completely neglected. I think maybe even using 1/4 sliders with repeats could bridge this gap in rhythm usage a bit. There is a good amount of 1/2 rhythm usage though, don't get me wrong. It's just that the parts that don't use 1/2 rhythm are noticeably undermapped. I think you could buff the 1/1 rhythm in Kiai.

Going through this Normal, it feels just like an Easy. It's exclusively 1/1 rhythm...


HOS' Easy

  • 00:04:976 (3) - How about shortening this slider to 1/1? It makes a looot more sense to start a new slider on 00:05:607 - to follow the main melody. That, or use a circle, like you did at 00:08:133 (1,2) - (and similar rhythms onward)
  • 00:14:449 (2) - Here too, You end up mapping the start of a new measure to a slider-end. It's always better to have the NC on the start of the measure on lower diffs so its more beginner friendly.
    A rhythm like this would follow the main melody better.

  • 00:39:712 (2,1) - Same problem here. Just follow the rhythm you set up previously like: 00:35:923 (1,2,3) - . This is a good rhythm ;o And it allows for the next measure to begin on the downbeat. 00:41:291 - Isn't as strong of a beat as 00:40:976 - .
  • 01:13:818 (2,3,1) - Could you fix the spacing here? 3 noticeably too far from 1.

I worry about the spread of this set. Mainly because of the gap between Advanced and Hyper. However, Normal's absence of any 1/2 rhythm might also be a concern... Right now Advanced functions more like a "Normal" diff since it tries to use both 1/2 and 1/1 rhythm. I think another difficulty might have to be added in between Advanced and Hyper, because if you buffed Advanced, you'd also have to buff Normal by introducing at least a bit of 1/2 rhythm.

  • I personally feel like the combo colors are too stark considering the nature of the song and background, Try to go for more pastel colors instead of stark ones. The main culprit is the red one, being absolutely out of place.
  • There are some unused green lines around the lower diffs, but that's not really critical.
  • 00:03:081 - Red line should be put here in order for the cymbals to properly align in Nightcore mod.
  • According to RemyWiki, the source should be DanceDanceRevolution (2013)

  • 00:38:134 (8,1) - Again, unreadability and also NC inconsistency.
  • 00:45:555 (10) - Again, possibly shorten this by a tick and add a circle?
  • 01:42:870 (1,2,3) - Maybe make the spacing and beat gap consistent? the sudden change is a bit strange.
  • 01:45:081 (2) - Mute the sliderend here? no actual beat but the effect is cool.

  • 00:00:555 (1) - I've never been so genuinely annoyed by the first note of the map, Due to the following reasons;
    1. Inconsistent with the rest of the set
    2. Considering that a slider tail has no impact, the cymbal isn't felt as a tap, even though it is a strong beat..
    3. You didn't even bother making a cool blanket or anything, it's just this strange circle-wannabe that looks extremely off.
    It'd be better to just map it like the rest of the set to avoid issues.
  • 00:11:923 (1,2,3) - Oh my GOD this is 1/3 snap babe.
  • 00:28:133 (5,1) - This is really hard to read as 1/3, maybe use consistent and lower spacing?
  • 00:35:765 (4,5,1) - 1/6
  • 00:38:239 (5,1) - Same as before
  • 01:12:081 (5,6,7) - 1/6

Lower diffs are great except for the gap between Normal and Advanced, please try to incorporate some 1/2 into the Normal diff so it scales better.

Don't really have much of a problem with this diff but the only thing that bothered me was:


Nyquill's Insane
  • 00:13:660 (3) - How about blanket with the last part of your stream?
  • 00:15:712 (1) - Accidental whistle on slider body.
  • 00:24:239 (4) - I think you may have missed a clap here.
  • 00:24:765 (2,5) - Not sure why claps aren't apparent at the end of these repeat sliders. The differentiation of the drums is still apparent here, but the whistles might have covered it up.
  • 00:29:133 (3) - Looks like a missed clap on slider end?
  • 00:27:712 (4) - This repeat slider is kind of soft; the kicker doesn't really provide that strong of an impact going into 00:28:133 (5).
  • 00:34:660 (1) - Clap on slider end?
  • 00:35:449 (3) - There's that really heavy bass drum sound on the slider head here, so adding that normal sampleset with soft additions for the whistles would be cool.
  • 00:39:712 (1,3,1,3) - Add claps on slider ends here since you had them at 00:29:607 (1,3,1,3) - as well.
  • 00:43:502 (1,4) - How about using soft additions on the head here for the finish instead? It compliments the cymbal hits in the music much better than the Normal finish.
  • 00:46:028 (1,4) - For consistency, from the previous point, use a Normal sampleset with soft additions to match what was done before.
  • 00:48:396 (6) - Missed a finish on the slider end here.
