[Archived] getting way more PP then what it show in the top ranks list

Problem Details:

the PP given for some new ranks seem to be much higher then what it show in the top score for some far from perfect or FC plays

that gave me around +1500 ranks (to 82,2k) and clearly shouldn't have

osu! version: 20140814.1 (latest)

It can depend on your rank sometimes how much pp you get from a map. Even if someone has a really high rank on a map, they might be a higher rank themselves and have gotten little to no pp, but someone of a lower rank could get a significantly lower score and get a lot of pp on the same difficulty, same map.

I know about that, the getting much more PP then I should is related to having a score that shouldn't have raised me by even 50 ranks.
The score I got on that map wasn't even in the first part of my top rank list too.

Also, I think it may have happen for some other songs this week,
and that there was some troubles with the server recently...


Edit : The top rank that I'm talking of is the one on my profile page, not the one for the song itself.

There was a clean up on inactive / banned players I believe, so everyone was having some rank boost depending on your rank.

Not to the point where barely getting a new rank a bit higher then the last one give as much as FCing the song would.
I'm quite sure that the points it gave me doesn't fit the one shown on the top rank list.

Hightening the acc bu even 1% can mean 5 pp extra
Also, why do you think it's a bug, when you get to much pp?

Why do people even post about this here.

#8 in this thread t/208267 talks about feedback on PP and whatnot.

Why do people even post about this here.

I'm not talking about the balance of PP
It seem like a few of the plays I did in the last week gave me as much PP as if it didn't took in count the relative % it should give me or something like that
