Problem Details:
Downloaded the installer yesterday, and whenever I try to run it, I get the message, "This app can't run on your PC". I'm running Windows 8, and I had osu! installed on my computer ~4ish months ago, but I uninstalled it as I was cleaning out a lot of old files. It worked perfectly then, so I have no idea why it won't work now.
I do have .net installed, and working, on my computer, so that isn't the issue. I did download the updater (osume), but whenever I run it, it tells me that there was an error while downloading "ink.zip", and asks if I'd like to retry or cancel. Retrying starts an endless loop of error messages, and cancel exits the program.
I downloaded another version of osume, but that version runs in the background without any sort of patcher window, and locks my mouse as the cursor with an hourglass, and it won't allow me to end the process through the Task Manager (though, if I run the other version of osume, it allows me to kill the one running in the background).
So yeah, no idea what's going on. Help would be appreciated, as I've looked around already, and can't find any solutions.
