3rd Beatmap. An OST from Katawa Shoujo, a Visual Novel. Currently has one difficulty, but I'm working on another already. Do playtest, comment and modify when needed. Thank you. ^^

Hello :)

Timing is off. BPM should be 140 throughout the whole thing. Also use 1/4 snapping, not 1/12. It'll help you be more accurate, especially for easy/normal/hard diffs. Most of the hit circles were way off. I think the offset is good, so like just delete the other timings and turn the 70BPM into 140. If you want to make the distance snap closer/farther or sliders faster/slower, you can change it by adding a timing section and change the slider velocity multiplier.

After you fix the timing, all the objects are going to need tweaking on the timeline. Stuff will overlap eachother.

I really want to mod this further. I can just feel the potential. But I think I'll wait till timing is down. If you still have problems then you might want to find someone more experienced.

Looks like you got the timing kind of down. I actually was wrong. There needs to be a second offset at 00:42:243 - (still 140 bpm)

Here's a diff I made today cause I was bored. You don't have to use it, but you can use it as reference and just to compare. If you want to use it as a guest easy diff, that's fine by me ^_^

Heyo.

Oh, you downloaded it already. It was supposed to be more of a playtest version for me and a couple friends to play, but it seems to work well the BPM's you listed already, as each of us got around 99-100% accuracy. I updated the offset around 42 seconds like you suggested. My net is constantly backfiring on me right now, so I'll have to download the waw-files when it gets better.

Anyways, thanks for the effort, it's much appreciated. I'm thinking of creating one more difficulty, one that's a tad bit harder than the current ones. I also tested your version of the song and I think it's great, and thus I will upload it as a guest diff. ^^

I'm probably making some custom sprites for this map as well later when I have the sufficient time, I think KS beatmaps deserve at least that much extra effort. ;)

Arigatou and kudos to you, do let me know if you start working on Parity, I'd be eager to playtest and comment on it. :)

Edit. My net is really freaking me out now, it messes up the uploads and does other kinky shit as well. I'll fix this as soon as this piece of garbage gets back on the level we pay for.

I actually like the health bar and the cursor, might use them on the map. I think I'll make the other sprites more Hanako-themed, though, as most of the sprites in the skin are pretty varied. And I agree, it's really something else trying to figure the rhytm perfectly in piano versions.

...Anyways, I think I might actually visit the KS forums when the beatmap is finalized and present it in a thread there. You never know, might find more interested parties there. :)

I updated your difficulty with the new settings, and downloaded the custom hitsounds~. I'll be done with my exams next week, so I'll probably start the skinning somewhere around the end of the week.

Do inform me if and when your KS map is avaible for playtesting, and I'll be sure to return the favor. ^^

Right. Well, the fact that you're still working on the diff, even though it's already submitted is something I can respect and is in itself worth presenting kudosu methinks. :p

I haven't really checked the rules regarding kudosu, I have just generally presented kudosu for every useful post and people who help me out with playtesting. If presenting multiple kudosu is indeed forbidden, I'll have to restrain from dishing them out. Gonna check the gory details later.

sorry, I haven't been able to do much, really, with all the work I have IRL atm. It seems that every day I'm supposed to have a day-off, they call me to back up at work. I did manage to update few sprites, including the Pass Section, Pause overlay and the Fail Background. I fixed the worst errors in Solitude's timing, but there's still a few parts that need tinkering. >_>

I tested the updated Confinement, and I really like the new twists you added to it. If you have the drive to do another difficulty, be my guest. :)

Anyways, you should redownload the map to get all the current sprites etc. Thanks for all your effort~.

Good work~

Updated your difficulty. I also remapped most of Solitude to match the Grid Snapping. Would appreciate if you were to test it and see if it's any better than it used to be.

I'll be working on the skinning next.

Once again I was wrong. First timing point is actually 169. Second timing point is fine. This should work.

I checked out your diff and I think you should focus on the melody more on the intro and less on trying to create triplets and the like.

And then there are lots of things messed up like these:
02:24:678 (1,2,3,4,5) - There are only 3 piano notes here.
02:27:250 (4,3) - These sliders are too fast
00:10:428 (1,2,3,4,5) - These should be deleted. It doesn't follow anything.
00:13:857 (1,2) - There are piano notes inbetween you can map
00:16:000 (4,5,6,7) - This is messed up. Bring 5 and 6 2/4 closer to 4. 7 is fine.
00:18:571 - There should be a circle here
00:19:000 (10,11,12) - This is what I mean by forcing triplets. Delete 10,11 and bring 12 where 10 was. Then make the slider 1/4 longer
00:21:143 - through 00:21:893 - is covered by a slider. No reason why that is.


Overall there are just a lot of those kind of things in the whole map. I'd just remap it. This time take it slowly. Map the first 6 seconds until you think it is perfect, then move on. Don't rush it ;)

Also, we shouldn't have an insane. Just Easy/Normal/Hard. Mapping an insane diff for this would be impossible.

Alright great :) Yea mapping takes a while to get decent at. It may take a long time to get this to the point to even be modded, but that's okay. As long as there is progress, that's all that matters right now <3

I might work on a hard diff. Hard diffs is kinda... hard for me to map :P

Mhm, I'm not sure if I'll never actually get good at this, but this is something I just have to get right. :D Anyways, I had some free time today, and I did the raw remapping with the time I had. I have yet to edit the hit sounds and reshape a couple of sliders, but the beats are pretty much where I want them to be as of now. A playtest could be in order. ^^

Making a hard diff. may indeed be hard, in fact, I think the biggest problem I had before was that I tried to force the difficulty up by the usual means of triple beats, but they pretty much sound messed up on this song. But, according to the FAQ, 2 difficulties is enough for a map to make it into Ranked Section. If this map gets there, we may find someone willing to map Hard difficulty for this song, in case it proves to be an impossible task for either of us. :|

2 difficulties with one that is 4+ stars (hard or insane) and one under 4 (easy or normal).

I'll check it out later. If you want, I can edit it to death and make it great. I'm currently unemployed and have plenty of time on my hands for the next few days :P

edit: I looked at it real quick and i think it's a major improvement. I'll work on modding it later.

Great, I'll leave the small tinkering and and grinding the edges to you. :p maybe I can finally start working on the skinning with a good self-consience lol.

I edited the first 1 minute or so of your map. Check it out ;) I didn't change too much. Just fixed stuff, timed things correctly, snapped objects, made sliders better, and then moved stuff to keep the flow decent.

If you want, I can do this to the full map.

I like what you did with the sliders. If it's not asking too much, then please, by all means mod the rest of the map as well. :)

...I'll make the slider and maybe custom beats and a new cursor later this week. Please redownload the whole map to get all the new sprites.

Alright cool. I'm going to the other side of the country tonight and I'll be on a different PC. If you haven't please update with what I gave you so I can go from there and do the rest when I'm there :)
