Problem details: So my laptop run osu fine but lately i want to play it on my external monitor an old 4:3 dell 1280x1040 monitor. Fist i tried to run it on full screen on the external monitor but it glitching so i search online and the only solution is to set the external monitor to main. So i did that and the game won't run.
Sorry my english is bad.

This is a very interesting thread. I'm assuming you are plugging your external monitor into a separate discrete card in your laptop? And osu! also works fine when you don't use an external monitor at all?

What GPU/graphics card do you have?

The current solution to this issue that seems to work most of the time is this:
Close osu!, edit the "osu!.<username>.cfg" file in your osu! folder in a text editor and set these lines accordingly:
CompatibilityContext = 0

CanForceOptimusCompatibility = 0
When you're done, make sure to save and close the file before trying to open the game again.
