Hi,

Just curious why most beatmaps are from animes? I dont really watch any anime and all of the decent beatmaps are in Japanese, just wondering why does this game have such a prominent anime scene?

Has this game had any affiliation with anime in the past?

Mainly anime openings are very short so they are quick and easy for beginning mappers in particular. This ultimately starts a feedback loop wherein anime fans are attracted to a game with lots of anime music and the cycle continues when some of them become mappers.

This game does have connections with other Japanese rhythm games as a sim and may have sparked initial interest but not nowadays.
