People are constantly passing you in rank. Every time you submit a score, it updates your rank, so your rank drops.

You lose ranks because people gained rank while you weren't playing. At least that's what the most logic thing is.

You can't lose pp, technicaly, so playing 3-4 stars while having 265pp top scores shouldn't make you drop pp.

It is possible to lose pp. However, this most likely isn't the case and the previous two posts are otherwise correct.
