I started playing Catch the Beat recently, and I'm wondering, why did "Catch the Beat" turn into "osu!catch", but before you answer, was it always like that?

Catch the Beat to osu!catch? Was it always like that?

It was originally called CTB, but it was called Osu!Catch due to the Catch World Cup. Peppy thought CTBWC sounded bad and wanted a single word Acronym for Catch the Beat so it would be same as Osu, Taiko, & Mania and thus Osu!Catch was born.
because peppy wants CtB sounds like a game mode associated with osu!, so specific modes are changed to osu!taiko, osu!catch and osu!mania for better recognition
