hi, from queue

[General]

  1. Please, ask for some opinions on the spread gap between hard/insane. In your hard you mostly maintain a consistent DS whereas in insane you use way bigger jumps and more dense rhythms, so the diff gap is imo quite high. Maybe bring some of the heavier patterns in Insane down a little to neutralize this gap
  2. Soft-hitwhistle3.wav is unused, remove it please D:
  3. Just a suggestion, but your soft-hitwhistles are all percussion sounds which are way more alike with the default drum hitsounds than soft-whistles. For people playing without custom hitsounds, the effect of your hitsounding will be way different than intended. This is why I suggest you change the soft-hitwhistles to be drum additions instead.
[Easy]

  1. Maybe put OD2 so the settings ramp up in a more linear manner.
  2. 00:09:535 (1) - I'm not sure about this slider being the first object in this easy diff considering it start on an odd blue tick rhythm. You ignored the rhythm later on in your map 01:02:702 - , so I'd personally leave this out in the lowest diff. I'd get another opinion on this though.
  3. 00:31:036 (4) - perhaps a slight curve in this slider would benefit the underlying sound?
  4. 01:12:369 (3) - The reverse arrow's snap here kinda confuses me, you're missing the clap for no real reason and the red tick doesnt have any strong sounds. Wouldn't a rhythm like this benefit the song way better? https://voli.s-ul.eu/S6YHT0Dw.png

[Normal]

  1. 00:13:035 (4) - In other instances like 00:15:536 (4,5) - and 00:20:869 (4,5) - you mapped a stack here, perhaps make it consistent here?
  2. 00:31:035 (3) - how about something like a wave slider for this sighing sound? To make it stand out more, your slider 00:27:036 (1) - here has exactly the same shape.
[Hard]

  1. 00:09:869 (2) - The sliderend on the bluetick seems overmapped, there's nothing in the music 00:10:202 - . Why not just a double note?
  2. 00:11:535 (2) - It's kind of a pity that such a strong sound goes to waste under a sliderend, how about this rhythm? https://voli.s-ul.eu/UNRV5cPV.png
  3. 00:15:035 (5) - A hitsound to highlight this melodic sound on the sliderhead would do well.
  4. 00:16:869 (4) - same as what I said before (sliderend)
  5. 00:30:369 (2,3) - wut whats this mapped to? The whisper things in the background? It's a little unexpected nonetheless because the sound is barely audible, maybe just leave these out
  6. 00:36:036 (3) - Please, just keep these rhythms simple. There's nothing but silence in the music here, so a repeat slider is unnecessary. The repeat doesn't follow anything, so it's more accurate to just follow the vocals with for example 2 notes.
  7. 00:37:702 (1) - Here aswell, the sliderend doesn't follow anything and you'd probably be better off mapping to the held vocal like this https://voli.s-ul.eu/qeb3LXmD.png
  8. 00:39:369 (5) - 00:40:036 (6) - 00:47:036 (5) - 00:49:702 (5) - 00:52:369 (1) - 01:03:536 (4) - 01:12:869 (2) - 01:15:536 (2) - 01:20:202 (2) - The same goes for all these objects, they all have components (some even clickable notes) that don't follow anything in the song. Because there are so many in this diff, I won't give suggestions for each one of them, but pm me in game if you wanna talk about this further.

[Insane]

  1. 00:17:702 (1,2,3,4) - how about changing these to slider pairs instead? Having these monotonous/relatively soft sounds be jumps takes away a lot of power from 00:18:369 (1,2,3,4) - , which would be way better emphasized if this pattern didnt consist of note jumps
  2. 00:22:369 (3,4,5) - Don't you think the spacing's a little bit much for a slow part like this? perhaps ctrl+g 00:23:036 (5) - and stack the note on the other side. Same goes for 00:23:536 (6,7) - , thats really way too overspaced for a slow part like this
  3. 00:27:702 (3,4) - same.. also the rhythm feels too abrasive for what it's trying to follow. Try to use a little less objects in these parts
  4. 00:29:036 (7) - the 1/8 is very unexpected here because you introduced it for the first time in this part of the song, while the rhythm doesnt really differ much, maybe just change to 1/4? Same goes for 00:35:702 (1,2) - and similar stuff
  5. 01:00:369 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - nice :D
  6. 01:11:702 (7,8,9,10) - the pattern feels a little convoluted/strangely shaped since it follows an entirely different direction than what you've followed with your pattern before. Perhaps try to make a pattern that follows this direction? https://voli.s-ul.eu/380KntcN.png
  7. 01:16:202 (5,6) - minor, but you can def improve the blanket haha
Generally a cool map! Get some more mods on this (esp the hard/insane diff) and really look through the objects I mentioned on hard, then we'll see further :D

also did some irc btw for logging purposes
06:23 Renumi: aah hi can i ask for some additional help on my map if you have the time?
06:23 Voli: yea sure ^^
06:23 Renumi: aah thank you thank you
06:23 Renumi: it's this thing you modded earlier

06:24 Voli: yeah
06:25 Voli: i assume you're talking about the uhh
06:25 Voli: overmapped sliders
06:25 Voli: or well as i called them
06:25 Renumi: yeah, exactly :d
06:25 Renumi: with them i was trying to go for a mix of both vocals and instruments but i'm not too sure how i could change
06:26 Voli: well
06:26 Voli: some of them are just like..
06:26 Voli: mapping to really nothing
06:26 Voli: 00:38:702 (2) -
06:26 Voli: if you remove it
06:26 Voli: theres nothing beneath it
06:26 Voli: in the music
06:27 Voli: whoops wrong notation lol
06:27 Renumi: D^:
06:28 Voli: 00:39:369 (4) -
06:28 Voli: if you want to follow the vocals
06:28 Voli: the blue ticks are.. filler
06:29 Voli: and idk why you'd not just use 2 notes
06:29 Voli: or a long slider
06:29 Renumi: ahh, alright i think i understand now
06:29 Voli: sometimes im just not entire sure
06:29 Voli: entirely sure
06:30 Voli: what you wanna follow with some patterns
06:30 Voli: and i think you could define it a bit clearer
06:30 Voli: 01:00:369 (4,5) - these things obviously follow the percussion
06:30 Voli: no doubt
06:30 Voli: but other repeats such as the one i linked before are just kinda ''there''
06:31 Voli: and dont follow anything in particular
06:31 Renumi: right, i see what you mean now
06:31 Renumi: bad use of filler
06:32 Voli: 01:20:202 (2) - this is my bad btw
06:32 Voli: i hear now what you followed there
06:34 Renumi: that one sound in there yea
06:34 Voli: 00:47:035 (5) - these would be better
06:34 Voli: if you accentuated the melodic sound on the sliderhead
06:34 Voli: with a hitsound
06:34 Voli: its also because your hitsounds are purely drum
06:35 Voli: so a repeat consisting of a melodic sound and then drums.. is a bit weird because you only hitsounded the drums
06:36 Renumi: hmm, not sure i follow much there :s
06:37 Voli: 00:55:036 (5) -
06:37 Voli: things like this aswell
06:37 Voli: its obvious what you tried to follow but
06:37 Voli: https://voli.s-ul.eu/3oR4waQb.png
06:37 Voli: if you do it like this for example, you wont have the problem of the strong sounds going ignored
06:37 Voli: under a sliderend/sliderslide
06:38 Voli: and only the weakest sound being clickable
06:38 Renumi: aah, i see i see
06:38 Voli: 00:53:702 (1,2,3) - you did it better here actually haha
06:39 Renumi: ayy yay (?
06:39 Renumi: ahah more active clicking then
06:39 Voli: x)
06:40 Voli: yea man
06:40 Voli: clicking strong sounds feels good
06:41 Voli: and tbh im not sure about the diffgap
06:41 Voli: its kinda huge but i also kinda understand it
06:41 Voli: im a bit torn
06:42 Renumi: ah yeah, truth be told i'm kind of planning to find someome to make an advanced diff or hyper of sorts :d
06:42 Voli: that'd be cool imo
06:42 Voli: cuz your spread now is like e-n-h-----------i
06:42 Renumi: yeah, then spread wouldn't be so-- exactly
06:42 Renumi: D:
06:42 Voli: first three diffs are very nicely lined up
06:43 Renumi: then insane is just.. there ahah
06:43 Voli: also how about OD5-6 on hard and OD7-8 on insane
06:43 Voli: the values are so low o.o
06:44 Voli: i mean hard is just 0,5 above normal
06:44 Renumi: i thought about semi-lowish settings for a.. kinda calm song but i think that's not too bright of an idea thinking about it now aa
06:44 Voli: oh yeah thats cool
06:44 Voli: lets keep that
06:44 Voli: but
06:44 Voli: just make them a biiit higher
06:44 Voli: 6 is really low tbh for an insane
06:45 Voli: 7 is still on the lowish side but more acceptable
06:45 Voli: and then you can make hard like 5 or 5,5 maybe?
06:46 Renumi: mmh, yeah alright i'll do that o:
06:46 Renumi: can i ask you for oooone more thing also?
06:46 Voli: yea sure
06:48 Renumi: alright so on the collab insane, do you think that the difficulty is pretty rounded out? i've had some complaints that my parts are a bit easier compared to the other collabers' parts but i'm not too sure what to think
06:48 Voli: idk which are your parts
06:48 Voli: but
06:48 Renumi: i start trading off every bookmark there :d
06:48 Voli: well in general the diff was pretty okay but..
06:48 Voli: the slow part
06:49 Voli: i think its overdone
06:49 Voli: in comparison to the rest of the map[
06:49 Renumi: 00:21:702 - here onward right?
06:49 Voli: 00:29:036 (7) - and these 1/8s are seriously just random
06:49 Voli: xD
06:49 Voli: yea
06:50 Renumi: i'd like to think it was following vocals but yeah the approach to do that was kinda random xD
06:50 Voli: even if its an insane
06:50 Renumi: that's not my part hh
06:50 Voli: i'd like to see..
06:50 Voli: some kind of contrast between the slow part
06:50 Voli: and the rest of the mnap
06:50 Voli: and rn theres almost none
06:50 Voli: because the rhythm is almost as dense as the other parts
06:51 Voli: and the spacing is p much bigger than normal
06:51 Voli: LOL
06:51 Voli: 00:40:702 (1,2,3,4,5) - idk who mapped it but
06:52 Voli: long note patterns easily feel really aggressive already
06:52 Voli: when used in such a slow part
06:52 Voli: and with that much spacing in between them
06:52 Renumi: that belongs to the other mapper i collabed with ya
06:53 Renumi: i asked if he could nerf it and he didn't really do much xd
06:54 Renumi: but i kinda share the same concerns, map without that part is like 3 star something iirc
06:54 Renumi: can't remember if kiai applies but yeah :d
06:55 Voli: really?
06:55 Voli: omfg
06:55 Voli: yeah that aint good
06:55 Voli: xD
06:55 Voli: the slowest part shouldnt buff a map that much
06:56 Renumi: yep, yet there it is D:
06:56 Voli: yeee hmm
06:56 Voli: that mapper is still active?
06:57 Renumi: yeah, he's online right now actually
06:57 Renumi: ign is Ora :d
06:57 Voli: yeah maybe try to
06:57 Voli: sort that out with him xD
06:58 Renumi: i'll try to get a hold of him yeah xD
06:58 Renumi: 01:00:369 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - btw thanks for complimenting my jumps :D
06:58 Voli: yea thats a nice pattern
06:58 Voli: fits well
06:59 Renumi: hooray
06:59 Renumi: well i think that's all, thanks for elaborating further!
07:00 Renumi: i really appreciate it :D
07:00 Voli: yea np
07:03 Renumi: think this log should be posted to thread or nay?
07:03 Voli: if you want
07:03 Voli: i dont rly mind
07:04 Voli: i can put it in my post if you want me to
07:05 Renumi: i'd appreciate that a lot hhhh

  2. 00:31:035 (3) - how about something like a wave slider for this sighing sound? To make it stand out more, your slider 00:27:036 (1) - here has exactly the same shape. i guess since i did this in every other diff

  2. 00:11:535 (2) - It's kind of a pity that such a strong sound goes to waste under a sliderend, how about this rhythm? https://voli.s-ul.eu/UNRV5cPV.png ^
  3. 00:15:035 (5) - A hitsound to highlight this melodic sound on the sliderhead would do well. eh not a gigantic fan /;
  4. 00:16:869 (4) - same as what I said before (sliderend) fixed rhythtmth
  5. 00:30:369 (2,3) - wut whats this mapped to? The whisper things in the background? It's a little unexpected nonetheless because the sound is barely audible, maybe just leave these out fixed i think
  6. 00:36:036 (3) - Please, just keep these rhythms simple. There's nothing but silence in the music here, so a repeat slider is unnecessary. The repeat doesn't follow anything, so it's more accurate to just follow the vocals with for example 2 notes. ^
  7. 00:37:702 (1) - Here aswell, the sliderend doesn't follow anything and you'd probably be better off mapping to the held vocal like this https://voli.s-ul.eu/qeb3LXmD.png recurring
  8. 00:39:369 (5) - 00:40:036 (6) - 00:47:036 (5) - 00:49:702 (5) - 00:52:369 (1) - 01:03:536 (4) - 01:12:869 (2) - 01:15:536 (2) - 01:20:202 (2) - The same goes for all these objects, they all have components (some even clickable notes) that don't follow anything in the song. Because there are so many in this diff, I won't give suggestions for each one of them, but pm me in game if you wanna talk about this further. fixed rhythm for the most part

[Insane]

  1. 00:17:702 (1,2,3,4) - how about changing these to slider pairs instead? Having these monotonous/relatively soft sounds be jumps takes away a lot of power from 00:18:369 (1,2,3,4) - , which would be way better emphasized if this pattern didnt consist of note jumps got rid of jumps anwya since i think it was a bit overmapped
  2. 01:00:369 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - nice :D thanks :o
Generally a cool map! Get some more mods on this (esp the hard/insane diff) and really look through the objects I mentioned on hard, then we'll see further :D alrighty, thanks a lot!!
putting the irc here too just in case, updated diffs!
also did some irc btw for logging purposes
06:23 Renumi: aah hi can i ask for some additional help on my map if you have the time?
06:23 Voli: yea sure ^^
06:23 Renumi: aah thank you thank you
06:23 Renumi: it's this thing you modded earlier
06:23 *Renumi is editing [http://osu.ppy.sh/b/1317759 TeddyLoid feat. Bonjour Suzuki - Pipo Password [Hard]]

Mod from my Queue

[Easy]
  1. 00:24:369 (3) - The slider and others similar to it doesn't look good aesthetically in my opinion, mind making it more of a Z?
[Normal]
  1. 00:13:035 (4,1) - Inconsistent DS with the rest of the map. This is a Normal difficulty, so DS-Equality is observed.
  2. 00:21:702 (1) - Same reason with Easy
  3. 01:21:535 (3) - This can be blanketed a bit more better.
[Hard]
  1. 00:13:702 (1) - This seems to become a reoccurring theme.

This is all I can give! Thanks for using my queue.

  1. Using the default skin, the grayscale combo colours seem to blend with the background, especially in the editor D:
  2. drum-hitwhistle5.wav seems left unused.
Unused hitsounds:

  1. 00:10:369 (1,2,3) - These notes feel too clumped for me. I'd suggest moving 00:10:702 (3) - a bit more to the north-west to make some space in the area.
  2. 00:12:535 (5,6,7) - imo, the distance between 00:12:202 (4,5) - is too large. It just stands out among the others in the first part of the map while having no heavy sound (relative to the sound in 00:13:035 - ). Making this part like that of its similar part, 00:17:702 (1,2,3) - which has an emphasis on the heavy electronic sound and high vocal, would be nice.
  3. 00:41:202 (4,5) - This increase in distance seem pretty random to me.
Really nice tbh o:

[Easy]
  1. 00:24:369 (3) - I'm not sure but it'd be best to place this somewhere else to avoid minor confusion for beginner players in this back-and-forth style.
  2. 00:35:036 (3,1) - Nothing much, but this overlap between the two sliders can be avoided.
  3. 00:48:369 (1) - The slider shape makes the flow between 00:47:036 (4,1) - unsmooth, or jagged rather. Consider having some changes on the slider shape... or maybe the orientation.
I tried ;w; . Can't say much on the two difficulties.

Anw, good luck! :3

  1. 00:24:369 (3) - I'm not sure but it'd be best to place this somewhere else to avoid minor confusion for beginner players in this back-and-forth style. these are 1/1 gaps in 90 bpm which is half 170 bpm, i doubt there'd be confusion for players here D':
  2. 00:35:036 (3,1) - Nothing much, but this overlap between the two sliders can be avoided. it was actually intentional hhh i like this kind of stuff and it's so minor i don't think anyone would care :<
  3. 00:48:369 (1) - The slider shape makes the flow between 00:47:036 (4,1) - unsmooth, or jagged rather. Consider having some changes on the slider shape... or maybe the orientation. it's muh aesthetic and i wanted to kinda,, force in some movement between these sliders to fit the higher pitch/range of bonjour's voice here as bad as it may sound, but ya no change :^0
