[Archived] Fatal Application Exit pops up

Problem Details:
I've looked up this problem and it happens in multiple games but none of the Q&A really helped me.

So I haven't played osu in a while so i opened it up just because I felt like it and this thing keeps popping up.
It says "osu!.exe - Fatal Application Exit" and below it says " memory.c - !!sBadReadPtr(InPtr, InSize)".
If I x out of it or click ok it exits osu. If I ignore it and alt tab or try to play, the frame/rectangle or whatever isn't visible but I can still click on it and it'll alt tab back to the pop up.

I am having the same problem as you are but found a temporary fix for it. You gotta be careful since you could be playing a map and the thing forces you out. Well anyway, all I did was drag that thing with the "Fatal Application Exit" to the edge of the screen to hide it and play. Hope this helps until someone with an actual fix comes along. I had it since today so it might just be a bug or something.

I have this too. It appeared after the latest windows update. The cursor is ejected and tabs me out constantly, making the game unplayable.

This is because of Overwolf, you have to close it before opening osu!.
At least this was the fix for me.
I heard rebooting your pc also works.
