Found a bug by accident and found a good way to replicate it.
Press the down arrow, then right after press enter, then press the escape key and it should trigger.

I recorded a video to better show what happened
This isn't specific to cuttingedge and is already confirmed here.

there's a new debug option to test: DisableMultipleVBOs

Please try it out and let us know if it helps with SwapBuffer stuttering

When I unplugged my audio output while playing a song the game crashed, just wanted to make it known.

I am having troubles replicating it since I am one person now, but when i try it with auto it lags then auto becomes a mess and can barely perform the song.

Unplugging audio devices during gameplay causing issues is known. Here are the threads.

The game shouldn't crash though. (And it's probably not specific to cuttingedge.)

You have your universal offset changed. Go into options and fix it.
Nokui
woops can't believe I didn't check that... Sorry about that

Issue(s) in this thread have been addressed by the following changes:
  1. Add debug option to disable slider rendering. Please test whether it reduces stuttering. (peppy)
The changes will be applied to builds newer than b20151129cuttingedge.

Please follow up in this thread if you believe more work needs to be done to fix the mentioned issues. If they have not yet been resolved, please provide any new details that may have arisen after this build.
GhostFrog
The disable slider rendering option is allowing me to play at 240 fps, whereas recently I've often gotten lag at 120. I'm not sure if that's what the option is meant to fix though.
peppy
I pushed a second update after that one which may fix your issue without disabling sliders. Can you please test it?
GhostFrog
I restarted osu! and tried playing with the option disabled and afaict it's no better than normal. osu! didn't update in-between my previous post and now though, even with the restart.
peppy
can you chuck is a performance.log?

I played the same map twice during this time. I played it once WITHOUT the option enabled, starting at xx:47:15 and ending at xx:49:12. I then played it WITH the option enabled starting at what I would expect to be xx:49:58 or xx:49:59 and ending at xx:51:55.

Edit: Errrr..just remembered I started the map the second time for about a second, then tabbed out because my fps was at 40, then tabbed back in and restarted the map and my fps fixed itself. Don't know if that's relevant
peppy
@GhostFrog: Are you able to try what i mention here?
GhostFrog
It doesn't seem to be making any difference.
peppy
You must be hitting a very different issue then.

What's your system specs (you can paste relevant information from the top of runtime.log)

Is that an optimus chipset (do you have an intel card too)?
GhostFrog
I'm not really sure what that means or how to check for it so hopefully this answers it

Here's the log. Drastic performance increase with snaking slider on.

cursor unable to move within osu

This happens to me too on both external mouse and the laptop's track pad. Mouse clicks work though
kokopanko
same here, the ingame cursor won't move, but the click does work
Bauxe
Yep cursor won't move as long as raw input is enabled. Disabling allows me to move it.
Karavusk
this is a pretty first world problem but hey maybe it helps you.

In the cutting edge version my amd driver crashes when playing osu at uncapped frames (arround 1000fps).
The fallback version runs stable at arround 1200fps without any crashes.

I am using a r9 390x with the latest amd drivers without any overclock. I really dont care about this but
maybe it helps?

ran into this strange slider render bug while spectating, no idea what could have caused it http://puu.sh/lHpU7/b3079d04cf.png

edit: happened again, same slider. http://puu.sh/lHqlQ/1550aa8de7.png

Beatmap: https://osu.ppy.sh/b/704360

No debug options are enabled, snaking sliders on, in case that info helps.

^^ also this, but it was fixed by simply restarting the game.

running b20151203.1
peppy
@rickput: For what it's worth, that bug is already fixed in a patch which will be merged soon :).
Uniterno
I'm having some spikes lags in the 20151203.3cuttingedge while playing.

Notes:
-No debug options.
-Maximum FPS limit: 240fps
Kyubey
When I try to place a slider in the editor, it's body become pretty short and doesn't change even if I do something like adding more anchors, though sliderball goes on that path where slider should be.

Got the same issue on my client as well.

I have a new problem with snaking sliders. Every time the sliders open, jerky extremely. Until yesterday, it was never like that. Please fix, thank you. :?

Same here. When i turn on compatibility mode, the sliders turn invisible, as if they are not being rendered.
Tested on a different computer and it had graphical issues that didnt happen on my main machine, switching the sliders with sqaures of other osu elements (skin/song select/etc).

I'll try to provide a picture of the slider graphical errors as soon as possible

We're aware of the issues with the sliders. Don't use cutting edge for the time being if you have problems with the sliders. Beta works just fine.

So I've been getting dropped frames (and resulting lag spikes) for a little while now (GTX 970) but reduce dropped frames fixed it. However, since playing with half fps isn't my cup of tea I tried messing around and it seems that if I play a song with reduce dropped frames and then take it off, I magically don't get dropped frames, my fps goes right back up but I get small stutters. (very playable, 0.55ms without option and 1.1ms with option)
Aperture
I posted my performance.log a while back, but here's another one with the new build: http://puu.sh/lJyHh/e45195d67c.log

I have reduce dropped frames turned on, yet today many FCs were ruined by dropped frames. Still running my GTX970 and pretty decent PC with osu on SSD.

The latest build is giving me really poor frame time suddenly. I don't know exactly what was changed.

While playing a beatmap the frame time will change almost randomly from around 0.7 to 2.5 on the latest cutting-edge build. I switched to stable after trying to figure out the problem and my frame time is completely normal there, which is usually 0.8-1.2.

I've spent a lot of time in the past messing with settings and cutting down my skin to a minimal number of images to get the best frame time I could. I would like to know if anybody is having similar frame time problems or if there is some known issue killing frametimes. Cutting-edge is unplayable for me at the moment.
smoogipoo
Post the performance.log file found in the osu!/logs directory.

I switched back to cutting-edge and played 3 maps for a bit. This is the performance.log for that.
