basically sometimes i'll start osu and it'll say it has to rebuild the map cache or whatever from scratch and I have to wait like 7 minutes processing all my maps then it deletes my "recently played" history

Tried deleting osu!.db so it can rebuild?
Also remove any osu!.db.<randomnumbers> files there are aswell.

I think you don't have any other possibility if your database is corrupted.

To my knowledge this would only happen if osu! can't read your current osu!.db file (properly).
When did this start happening? Is there anything you did that comes to mind since this started?

Do you have (m)any osu!.db files with a bunch of random numbers behind them (such as osu!.db.65416541651641)?
(If so you might want to upload and post them here. It may or may not be useful for a dev.)

Deleting osu.db is not really a solution. Databases with corrupted data written to them get rebuilt. I can't tell you why corrupt data can get written to file. You may have a beatmap that is malformed and producing garbage output. (It may have data that has an invalid format).
