Problem Details:
on some songs the stars will not load in the menu

Yeah. Even on the default skin they don't show up.

that weird because at the top left it even says 0.0 stars
so for that reason it isn't a visual bug, have you tried restarting the game?

seems like the maps are broken but if a ranking list shows up that shouldn't be the case....

Yeah I've even redownloaded the game and that didn't fix it.

It's on like half my maps....I would have to redownload over 200 maps....

try it with one then first and see if it help, also try to move the osu!.db out of the osu folder to let it cash everything again (don't worry osu will create a new one)

Seen this before...

Try re-processing the maps by pressing F5 and letting it do its thing.

If that didn't solve it then you could try moving the 'osu!.db' file out of the osu! installation folder (while osu! is closed)
and launch osu! again, and then once again just let it do its thing.

If all of that didn't do anything all you can really do is re-downloading the affected maps.

Do you have folder permissions? It might cause osu! to have problems reading the songs folder. Try running as admin.

This only happens on my debug build. It doesn't happen otherwise. It's been confirmed that permission issues can cause this. Measures have been put into place to reprocess difficulty calculations. There isn't a guarantee that it will eventually update though.
