I can't believe I didn't hear about this game until recently.
I love rhythm games and this one is a lot of fun!
So far in my first hour I have gotten an S on normal.
While that may not be a challenging feat, I expect myself to be playing on insane eventually.
So we will watch my small osu! penis transform into a marvelous beast of nature! XD

I play with the mouse only and click. I've heard people on twitch saying that they hit keys as well?
Is this true? I'm guessing it is helpful when hitting fast notes in succession.

Anyways hello all :D

Thank you Raisha :)
At first I was too used to the mouse and click, but after playing some harder songs I feel like i was doing better when alternating z and x instead.

I might have to switch my mouse to my left hand though and tap the keys with my right.

How do you all play?

Welcome to the forums, TripTheMachine! :)
The majority of right handers usually play osu by holding the mouse in their right hand, and tapping with the left. You could, however, invert that, and I've seen some players do it before. Just play with whatever feels comfortable to you.
In fact, most top players use a graphics tablet to play, as it gives them more control and speed over the cursor.

Welcome! Let's Trip the Machine! :3/

Well, clicking the x and y key is probably the best thing for streams :p

Welcome! o/

I see potential in you. As for your question, I use a mouse and tap with A and S keys.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you. Enjoy your time here. :D

Thanks everybody!

Day 2 and I'm mostly getting A's on normals.

Is there a way I can set a 3rd key to hit notes? If I could hit c as well as z and x I think that would be perfect.

Yes, but you would suck.

You can't bind a third key to press. But, you could enable mouse buttons and tri or quad-alternate the notes, using z, x, M1, and M2.

Yes, but you would suck.
Why do you think that?
I feel like it would help me hit 1/16 notes in later difficulties.
The ones i came across in the hard songs I played I could hit alright, but I could hit them even better if I had that 3rd key.
