[resolved] Osu! and .NET Framework update doesn't work

Problem Details: The newer version of osu seems to want to use the latest version of .NET Framework. I had a previous version before the newer osu but deleted it so I can get the recently updated one. The .NET Framework that's needed to play the new osu however has a system requirement of Windows 7 or 8. I however erm... only have XP. And my family doesn't seem to be upgrading anytime soon... or probably ever. Is there a way I can still play osu without needing a newer version of .NET Framework? If not then I guess I won't be playing anymore..

Latest .net still supports XP

Redownload osu! and reinstall .NET

EDIT: .net 4 is supported .net 4.x is NOT

I tried reinstalling .NET and this is what I get
I read up on Modules Installer but it says it's eating up everyone's computer

Try .NET version 4? I think I'm using that and it's working fine

anyways, without .NET Framework, you can't play osu ^^

.NET Framework installed just fine, thank you Yuzuru

I know I need Framework since I had to download it before. But now osu isn't responding to me once again.. is it hopeless? ;u;

4.0 is a newer version if compared to 3.5 , so it should ne working better.

First manually install .net 4 (not 4.5.x versions)
If that works gg.
If not: I'm' pretty sure this problem has came up on the forums before. You have to try and completely remove .net (make sure it's no where to be found on your PC not just the uninstall.exe stuff).

Then try to install.

Idrk but peppy mentioned months ago that it has to be 4.0

I was able to get the game to work finally

Apparently my computer didn't like the regular installation file so I tried the offline one. Thank you all for your help!

And now when I go to the beatmap selection screen, I get a black screen. Goodness gracious
it was working fine until the game checked for new beatmaps

I got all my problems solved finally. I would have replied earlier but I got carried away in the game..

I guess this topic or post can be closed now, if that's what you do when a problem is solved
