Round 30: Honeycomb Beats

Image

Nominated by MetalMario201. A stream of (usually 1/2 beats) are placed in a fashion that they all fit on a hexagonal grid. This way, the order of notes being hit cannot be determined by looking at the circles alone, and players are required to look at the numbers and/or the approach circles to figure out the order. Sometimes, HoneyComb beats are combined with low Overall Difficulty to confuse the player.

Map(s) that use this technique
La Roux - Bulletproof [MetalMario's Hard] by Larto (Difficulty by MetalMario201)
Kishidan - Zoku by iNiS (recreated by m980)

Really awesome technique. 5'd
All lines in my mod posts are just suggestions if and only if you can give me a good reason why you didn't apply it. "No" is not a good reason.

These are nice and challenging, but too challenging for me. 4.

I have left the MAT as I feel as though I wasn't doing anything to justify being there.

Gameplay, cosmetic, remark, badly applied mods, ranking guidelines.

I love the sense of impending doom you get from seeing a bunch of these.

I like them cause they make your map look structured. You can place them without confusing the player though.

These almost always confuse me because I read approach time, not the silly little numbers.

I'm rarely if ever confused by these since I mostly rely on approach circle distance and combo numbers when I am playing. These are fine by me if mappers use them, but if you do it too much it gets boring.

I give it a 3.5 (oh, but there's no 3.5, so I had to go with 4 :P)
A Ha Haa~

Usually destroys me completely, but I like it. Didn't Jumping Jack Flash on Sweatin' have something like it, by the way?
