Now, whether this is teasing a full-fledged sequel, a one-week-long sequel, or just a spin-off is still up in the air. Same with what platforms it's on. We don't know what platforms it's on yet, either. Hell, it could be a drama CD, as unlikely as it seems. So, don't get too hyped up yet, but instead just be aware that we're getting some sort of follow-up.

OLD STUFF: Long story short, thanks to some geniuses we've figured out what http://www.square-enix.co.jp/subaseka/ is a teaser site for. Among other things, like the extremely obvious motif the site has going with the day counter and crap, this mp3 was ripped from site and confirms that it's TWEWY-related:

As for what it is? We have no bloody idea yet. A new game's a possibility, but this is SE so I'm just going to wait a week and see what it is

Oh, and the rumors about it being a PC/mobile phone game have been debunked, before someone brings it up and I have to post later and say, "No, it was bad translation/it's a standard script on every page/etc." (Yes, it's been revealed to be an iPhone port. But, as shown above, they at least added a teaser for the real thing those trolls)

I like how they used Calling by Leah in the teaser. It's one of my favorite songs in the TWEWY OST Ü

I wouldn't get *too* excited just yet. Feel free to remain optimistic, but I would save the actual hype until after we see the reveal and know if they're trolling us again. This is SE, and they can't decide if they want to be cool or want to troll everybody.

This is pre-TGS, though, so there's still some hope.

This looks promising at least. I still regret that I didn't actually buy TWEWY but instead just played as much as a I could while renting it from gamefly. Oh, if only DS saves weren't limited to the cartridge.

if you've played through the main story, it makes sense that the first day of the "fourth" week, the week neku wakes up in the RealGround, is the same as being reborn. Since everyone was already dead, given a second chance for a chance at life.

The url itself pretty much gives it away as being TWEWY related,
as the Japanese name for the game was Subarashiki kono Sekai.

I don't see much need for a direct prequel or sequel, the TWEWY story is pretty well self-contained. The only thing that would really make sense as a real sequel would be something like the Reapers invading the real world for whatever reason, or at least that's all I can think of.

But even if it's different characters in a different part of the world with different gameplay I think it would still be good.

Yeah, I hope it doesn't try to carry on with Neku, and uses original characters. Most characters' roles are already done, unless the humans grow old and have a second chance after a heart attack or something. Next Tin Pin Episode, perhaps?

Nomura already said they were doing something new with TWEWY, which is why they had the TWEWY characters in KHDDD - they wanted to establish new "canon" voice actors so that it fits into "where they want to take TWEWY next"

and if anyone's confused, the current BGM on the site (August 20th) is Twister (well, just the percussion)
