Hello,

Well, it's just like title says - since yesterday, out of nothing, cursor started to randomly slow down/speed up (only during gameplay). I haven't changed anything within options, mouse settings etc., drivers are up to date. Any ideas?

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Mouse: A4tech X-747

Regards.

I used to have this problem too. I changed to windowed mode and the speedups stopped

(Do you happen to have an Intel sandybridge processor?)

I have this exact same problem as well and have had it for the past few months. It only occurs in osu! and occurs no matter what peripheral I use, tried multiple mice and a Wacom drawing tablet set to pen mode. I have tried basically everything to solve it: system restore, reinstalling Windows, using default drivers for everything, killing all processes except for Osu and those necessary to run Windows, using onboard video and audio instead of my video and audio cards in case one of those had issues, etc.

I did not change any hardware since I first played this game, just one day when I tried playing I noticed this problem and have had it ever since. Presumably the problem came along with a new build of osu, but I'm not sure whether there was an update that day so it may have been another reason. It is absolutely infuriating to attempt to play this game with this bug since it essentially makes aiming properly impossible, and I have quit playing the game as a result since it just makes me frustrated like this. I do enjoy rhythm games very much, especially this one because of the active community and the huge library of beatmaps that is always growing. I find this game very fun and it has introduced me to a lot of music so I would be very thankful if I could get this issue resolved.

My PC specs, if it matters:

Tried fullscreen? Tried windowed? Tried opengl/dx/frame limiter toggles?
I can't think of any reason this would happen in osu!, but no other application.

As I posted before, I got the same problem (and my friend with a sandy bridge based processor) after upgrading to Sandy-E. It must have something to do with osu!, intels archtechture, the position of the planets and something else that won't happen on every computer. Nothing else worked for me, until I changed from fullscreen to windowed mode.

It almost ruined osu! totally for me, since I used to be a mouse player too.

Maybe some bundled software or driver software interfering with your input? Some apps like this can hook on to input events and cause latency in cases they are being polled at high rates (like games).

Actually, I think it may be happening in Windows in general, rather than just osu!. Any ideas if that is the case?

First thing I'd do is check your mouse, and maybe try another. Possibly switch the USB hub you're using if you have more than one (even just a different set of usb ports on your motherboard may help).

Could you by any chance provide me with a download link of an older build of osu? (One from around January) to see if it solves the problem?

It would be nice if I was able to rule out/determine osu! itself as the problem.

I can guarantee it isn't osu!. Old builds will not help. Nothing has changed which could possibly cause this.

Could be your mouse driver (try uninstalling it if you have one).

Are you using Aero (transparent windows and shit) on your windows? If yes, try disabling it.
These were the two things that caused the same shit to happen to me.

I had same problem. Take a can of compressed air and clean and point it at the laser. Then take a qtip and a little rubbing alcohol and clean the glass. Took me FOREVER to finally find a fix. Hope it helps you!

I'm having a similar thing, right now. My cursor won't move right as I move the mouse ans spin the slider. I tried testing like I'm spinning the spinner to see with fixed, but still. I waited for 10 hours to wait for it to be fixed. Can y'all please help me too?

I restarted the computer three times, but still. I got a Window 7 laptop.
