Since I was told to post it here, here you go

About the multiplayer bug - whenever you hover your TAG color, it darkens on mouse-over, but it doesn't go back when you move out. After a while the color becomes black. As I said, it's just cosmetic issue, but I noticed it when I was bored and spinning around with my cursor in multiplayer.

About the pp, yesterday I did a marathon http://osu.ppy.sh/b/37860 (#13, 3500 combo, 320M score, 21 minutes drain time) and got 0pp for it (I was waiting for following 3 updates and refreshing, no change in pp). Few hours before that, I did random approval map SS http://osu.ppy.sh/b/135396 (#26, 1400 combo, 37M score) which gave me 8pp on first update. It just doesn't seem right that such marathon wouldn't even give any points, since it's not THAT easy to FC. I am usually getting pp for whatever record I make, so I am wondering how this is possible.

Now reporting 2 more issues I have with pp system

15 hours ago, guy who stole my #1 some time ago got deleted, hence I got my first place back again. First thing about it is, that those once-stolen records don't get back into Top Ranks tab.
Second issue is related to first one...for past 2 days my pp was constantly at 5842 (still no pp for that marathon). I was watching my graph few times a day and even after updates, it was not moving/updating. Now I suddenly got my #1 back and got -7pp instantly, instead of getting minor pp boost for being first and having best accuracy on the map.

I would welcome staff explanation about these, as it just doesn't seem valid to me.

pp system behavior is still a wonder for me. I get boosts for passing mediocre diffs to get to #500 or so, then I get none for improving my records on high diffs to something like #600. Sometimes getting in top 500 gives you nothing, sometimes barely scraping at ~980 gives a huge boost, and difficulty just seems to not matter. Also it seems you get nothing at all while multiplaying, and sometimes pp just raise on their own while you don't play osu for a few days. I wonder if we'll ever know how it actually works...
if(user.rank<1000) user.pp+=rand(); :D

pp updates are not instant. it is also not random. it is also calculated daily for some aspects, but shouldn't jump around too much.
marathons wouldn't be expected to give much due to lower contention.

please do not study your pp graph on a level that low. +/-10 variations can happen over the day, based on changes in how others play, or how the processing is running.

Also please do not combine two issues in one thread.

At the very least, I hope you keep those in mind, especially that one with Top Ranks...and it still doesn't make much sense to me, but I can't really dig farther as I don't know how it works on the inside...but 0pp for marathon is just wrong :/

There is no way you got 0pp. Your increase may have been cancelled by diminishing in the daily processing. Have you considered that (see my previous reply)?

I guess I'll just record my acquired ranks and pp I get next time I play for a few hours to see if something still feels wrong. pp should update every 30 minutes, right?

Read my post. Again. Calculations are not at constant intervals. Do not "record" on a granularity finer than once a day. I guarantee it won't work.
