You should read the manga, it is way better and the ending is everything but "wtf" xD

I'd say Claymore, especially if you know the manga.
All the anime is fuckin' great, even though you wanna kill Raki every time he appears, but the last 5 minutes... sooooooo stupid, doesn't fit the rest of the anime AT ALL.

I don't like Death Note "ending" as well (i stop it ep. 25 every time i watch it), i think the 12 last eps arn't good compared to the ones before.
