I wanted to get into kanye for some time (only know the singles from my teen years), which works/albums do you guys recommend to start with?

IMO Kanye's older works are a good starting point. Start with The College Dropout or Late Registration. It's got more of an alternative hip-hop sound than his later works. If you've listened to those, you should listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It's arguably got the best production values and some really interesting samples, and is my favourite from him. Graduation and 808's and Heartbreak are optional. 808's was pretty bad :l Also, Watch the Throne with Jay-Z |
