About mapping, don't sweat it if you don't reach your expectations in your first tries. Nobody does. Give it a number of attempts and I'm sure you'll get better at it. If you look at every known mapper's first maps, you'll see that they're way subpar to their usual stuff. You just need to practice, just like with osu!standard really!
Hope that cheers you up. :D

correction: nobody reaches their expectations
because people are made like that, always trying to achieve more than they can achieve

For your wrist, welp. There are other people aroud here whose wrist has been injured with lifetime aftermath (ztrot, myself, and possibly others), so feel free to talk if you need to.
And you'll be surprised at how good the human body is to adapt. You'll get your strength back in no time !

good luck being stuck for 8 weeks with only one wrist. I've been through it and it's unbearable (and it might happen again hurr)

PS: I've always been scared of tendonitis knowing I use my wrist a whole lot (piano+violin+osu! and other games) now I think I'm gonna slow down on these

I don't know, I'm quite content of the maps I've done recently (the unsublitted ones I mean)
I guess my expectations aren't high enough? Even so I did what I wanted and I think the maps were good-looking, and I got positive feedback, so I'm already very happy with that.

But anyway, back on topic, see if you can't play Taiko either. If you set up your keys properly you'll be able to play a decent number of maps without straining your wrists. I am one of the slowest streamers when it comes to standard, I can't keep up 1/4 streams at more than 145bpm, and I'm able to clear deathstreams 200bpm in Taiko with no problems. See if you can try that out and if it works for you then all the better!

After a nice 6 hour session at the hospital, I've come back with news I'm literally jumping about. The doctors were able to drain all the fluid from the encasement on the tendons, and they did a few tests to find that the fluid reacts to something called dexamethasone (had to google to get the right spelling), otherwise found within most anti-inflammatory drugs. Now, I wasn't reacting to the medication I was given, but they gave it a shot. The drug is commonly found in some steroids, and as such, could become the needed and non-surgical solution to the problem.

They noticed over an 8 hour period, a concentrated amount of the dexme-I can't spell the word, destroyed the tendon enducing chemicals, and would allow the white bloodcells to act as the anti-body to exit the excess from my system. They gave me an injection about 3 hours ago, and the bally-knob-thing which is the harden shell of the tendonitis has gone down, and I feel no pain at the moment. I was only give a dilouted dose of about 5mg, which I was told would allow it to take effect over a longer period.

I go back in tomorrow afternoon and will get an MRI, and another sample taken to where I wait for results back. If it comes back with signs that it's working, the surgery this coming Monday will be cancled, and there will be more treatment to come of this dexy stuff.

This is the first time in 3 months I haven't felt an inch of pain rotating my wrist around.

It's just a case of not stretching or execizing the muscle. Because I barely moved my wrist, and tensed up so much, the tendons began producing this liquid which then turned into this problem. As long as you don't sit on the PC for 12 hours a day constantly gaming and browsing the internet like I did, then don't worry. It also takes time to build up from what the doctors said.

I've had 10+ hours on average per day using the computer for almost 15 years. I'm totally fine.

When you earn the douche bag perk, it adds plus 15 resistance against arthritis and other hand cramping affinities.
also this is the general discussion forum so your previous post about this being irrelevant is in fact irrelevant itself.. you don't need to be a douche and are forbidden from being a douche as stated in the rules.

but i hope that you have a fast recovery and can return to us sometime.

He already said he isn't going anywhere. Why is everyone saying goodbye?

Hope the surgery goes well.

Edit: Update your initial post. It's misleading with the new information.

I'm spending most of my day on my computer but when my hands aren't typing or using the mouse they're usually fiddling with things like pens thus they aren't held in the same position constantly for extended periods.

That's my speculation as to why I don't have hand/joint problems yet.

...or it's because Shelly spends a lot of time on the computer for other reasons engaging in an activity that requires intense usage of his hand and arm.
