Indeed the wiki would be a great place to start, though writing down all of the rank 1 maps that the top players have achieved would require a constant update due to the fact that there are other players that are going to eventually overthrow the top players. Though constant updating doesn't apply for all the maps..for example Dragonforce, Can't defeat Airman, The Big Black. Those maps will probably take a while for other players to top over Cookiezi on those maps.. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a small biography of the player, what he was really good with, his greatest achievements and also the reason why he or she should be in the Hall of Fame. But that's just my opinion ^^

I don't really agree for having Hall of Fame dedicated for a single map score, despite the map's difficulty. Hallf of Fame should be dedicated to people who made a significant contribution to osu!, but at the end, left osu! Of course, it would be hard to judge how much of a contribution would be enough to be a Hall of Famer. I know I can't answer to that.
Atleast I can say James and Cyclone are good examples of what it takes to be in a Hall of Fame. 맵퍼는 참기름과도 같아서 짜내면 짜낼수록 더 빨리 만든다죠 _(:3」∠)_...

The hall of fame shouldn't just have the name of the person but a good well thought out description of the character.
For example, the newcomers may not know who this "Saturos" person and would find it odd to see their name on the hall of fame without any clear explanation. Also the reason of "S/He was a BAT" shouldn't be the only reason to see people up there, we need to see why they were so fantastic as to add them to the hall of fame. People who were #1 for quite some time could be considered for example, people who helped add to the game should also be added as well. People who were praised during their time around the osu forums also should be considered as well. In my opinion, Hall of Fame should be a place that's slightly different than the Alumni page as in it should feature people all around that have done work above others and made an impression in this game. In short: A person shouldn't look at the hall of fame and think "These people are important to me because this guy told me to". They should be able to see the reasons why they were selected and think "This guy is awesome because he did this in the game". Also, do we have a selection process for this? Nominations or something? Feel like that's important too. |

To me alumni are people who made a significant contribution to development and improvement of the game itself, while hall of famers are remembered for other things. Anyone who did enough to be considered legendary should be added, including players and forum-goers and not just mappers. I think voting, nominations and selections should be done by the BAT/MAT, alumni and hall of famers, and of course peppy and his team of devs |
