Theme: Character songs
Songs: Japanese: Artist: Kazama Yuuto Title: Negai Kanaeru Kagi BPM: 167 Offset: 12,990 Link: http://up.ppy.sh/files/negaikanaerukagi.mp3 English: Artist: Norman J. Grossfeld Title: Two Perfect Girls Link: http://up.ppy.sh/files/twoperfectgirls.mp3 BPM: 160 Offset: 21,170 Categories: English Normal English Hard Japanese Normal Japanese Hard Disclaimer: I won't be participating nor judging How to participate: Download the desired mp3. Make a new map in Edit mode. Put the correct title and artist, the correct difficulty, and then the correct timing. Then, you'll later submit the .osu! So you just make a map with an mp3, and that's all there is to it. ;) No registration or anything is required. ------ Rules are basically the same as last time. You have til August 31st, 2009 to map. Prize: I'll draw whatever you want, as long as it is PG-13 (lots of blood and such is okay, but nudity isn't). Also, no humans, I can't draw them (hybrids between humans and animals are A-OK, as long as it isn't a human with, say, cat ears and a tail, I mean like a dragonman). Yes, I can actually draw. I'm usually just too lazy to. Scanner downstairs for best quality. --------------------------------- So, I'm sure you've all heard real music. However, once in a while it's fun to delve into the oh so fun realm of... Character songs! Why are they so fun? Because they're songs. Sung by characters from the show. Often not sung in the show. They're more of a 'fun' thing, really. It's often a relief from all the serious music you listen to. But are character songs mappable, you ask? Yeah, some are. Not Agumon Ondo though. Or other Agumon songs. Gosh, that guy can't sing! ><; Nor can Takato, now that I think about it. *ahem* Other stuff is two posts down. Judges: 1. Cyclone 2. Mogsworth 3. Larto 4. DawnII 5. foulcoon 6. Sinistro Judging Criteria: -Basically, all that matters are these things: A. The map is as close to rankable as possible. Don't worry about this, it just means to map as you always do. B. How fun the map is overall. Your map can be technically correct, but still be not fun at all. Again, just map as you always do. C. How neat it is. Don't be sloppy, please. AKA it varies from judge to judge, but yeah. So, just map the best you can, that's all, really. Judges, judge as you want, out of 10. I'll be glad to pretend judge your map if you want to see how you would probably do. ;) Submission: To submit your entries, either A. Upload it somewhere and PM me the link (DO NOT UPLOAD TO UPPPY OR YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED BECAUSE EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR ENTRY). mediafire.com and megaupload.com both work. .osu's are small, so just about any free upload service should work, actually. Ask in chat if you don't know how to forum PM and/or upload. B. Email it to me at examon@live.com . C. Copy and paste the contents of the .osu into a PM (forgot about that, hehehe). I am playing through every map to make sure it A. works B. doesn't have any obvious errors (by obvious, I mean just by playing it, 90% of the osu! population would see it. By error, I mean indisputable, unrankable error. Basically, if anything would cause it to be a nuke.) I won't reject any entries, but if there's something that's quite wrong, I'll point it out and ask if you want to change that. Then I make it anonymous, and put it up in a secret place that the judges will be PMed when it's time. :P Which will be the beginning of August. EDIT: Fixed due to small overlook. orz Last edited by Ekaru on , edited 24 times in total.

Oh, yeah.
You don't need to sign up for mapping. You just submit a map. Rules are basically that the timing is provided, it must be done on time (you have a month :D), the entries are anonymous, 99.999999% of osu! won't know the songs ahead of time, don't bother guessing since you don't know what mp3s will be used, and, oh yeah... Maps are basically judged by how good the map itself is. Combo colors ect. aren't really judged. The judges judge how they want on a 1 out of 10 scale, using the general criteria. The last one: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6475 Judges comments ect. aren't guaranteed. We'll see. ~ So basically you just wait for the songs to be posted on June 13th, then you go and make a map for a difficulty for a song at your own pace. You then submit it (details on that will be forthcoming. I do have a back up plan if all else fails, and that will work smoothly for everyone but me, don't worry ~). Just map your heart out and don't submit a crappy map and expect to do well. And each category has its own rankings, so to say. So people who map the English one won't be going against those who map the Japanese song. That's it, basically, explained in an overdetailed and messy way. Can judges submit maps as well? (Probably not, but no question is a dumb question!)
...I'd like to add something else...but we'll have to wait for the day of reckoning. |
